ZERO BREEZE Mark 3 Portable Air Conditioner
Description
The ZERO BREEZE Mark 3 is the most advanced ultra-portable air conditioner on the market, delivering 5,280 BTU of real cooling power in a unit that weighs just 22 pounds. Purpose-built for off-grid life - whether you're sleeping in a truck cab, van, travel trailer, rooftop tent, or tiny house - the Mark 3 gives you genuine climate control without generators, shore power, or complicated installs. It cools a space by 20 degrees Fahrenheit in as little as 5 minutes and runs quietly in Sleep Mode at just 46 dB, so you actually get the rest you need.
Unlike conventional portable ACs that require a wall outlet and drain by hand, the Mark 3 runs on a detachable 1022Wh lithium battery, charges from solar panels, a car cigarette port, or a standard wall outlet, and drains condensation automatically via a built-in micro pump. With 7 operating modes - Rocket, Cool, Sleep, Fan, Dry, Care, and Heating - and a thermostat range of 61-88 degrees Fahrenheit, it's a four-season climate system in a travel-bag-sized package.
Key Features
- 5,280 BTU Cooling Capacity: Delivers genuine, rapid cooling for spaces up to 100-150 sq ft - more cooling per pound than any portable AC available.
- 22 lbs / 10 kg Unit Weight: The smallest and lightest 5,280 BTU portable AC ever built - carry it in one hand to any location.
- Rapid Cooling - 20°F in 5 Minutes: Purpose-built Rocket Mode drops cabin temps fast after a hot day outdoors.
- Battery-Powered with 1022Wh Capacity: Each battery runs 2-7 hours depending on mode; stack up to 4 batteries to extend runtime to 6-21+ hours.
- 500W MPPT Solar Charging: First portable AC with a built-in 500W MPPT module - charges 0% to 80% in about 2 hours via solar, wall outlet, or vehicle port.
- 7 Operating Modes: Rocket, Cool, Sleep, Fan, Dry, Care, and Heating modes adapt to every situation from rapid cool-down to quiet overnight comfort.
- 46 dB Sleep Mode: Whisper-quiet operation won't disturb your sleep - significantly quieter than competing battery ACs and far quieter than any generator setup.
- Active Auto-Drain System: Built-in micro sensor monitors water levels and activates an internal pump to drain condensation automatically - no manual emptying required.
- Dual Hose / Dual Function - Heat and Cool: Dual-hose ventilation plus a 5,800 BTU heating mode make it a true year-round climate system.
- IPX4 Moisture Protection: Rated for outdoor environments, light rain, and high-humidity conditions without compromising performance.
- Flexible Charging - 12V to 60V DC Input: Recharge via wall outlet, solar panels, RV hookup, or 12V vehicle cigarette port; also outputs USB-C (100W PD), USB-A (QC 3.0 18W), and 12V Anderson for other devices.
- No Installation Required: Full setup in under 5 minutes - no drilling, no permanent wiring, and no tools needed.
Type & Venting Kit Options - Which to Choose
- Mark 3 Basic (AC Only): The unit alone with no batteries included. Best for buyers who already own compatible power sources or who plan to run the AC from a wall outlet or existing power station. The most affordable entry point into the Mark 3 system.
- Mark 3 (AC + 1 Battery): The unit plus one 1022Wh battery. Ideal for shorter trips, weekend camping, or use cases where you can recharge each day. Provides roughly 2-7 hours of cooling per charge depending on mode.
- Mark 3 (AC + 2 Batteries): The most popular configuration. Two batteries in series deliver 4-14 hours of runtime - enough for a full night of Sleep Mode cooling without recharging. Great for truck drivers, van lifers, and weekend overlanders.
- Mark 3 (AC + 3 Batteries): Maximum out-of-the-box runtime. Three batteries provide 6-21 hours, covering extended trips, consecutive hot nights, or high-demand Rocket/Cool Mode use. Best for serious off-grid adventurers and full-time mobile living.
- No Venting Kit: Choose this if you already have your own ducting solution or plan to purchase a venting kit separately. The AC unit ships with all standard duct adapters.
- Window Venting Kit for Mercedes Sprinter (2007-2024+): A purpose-built panel designed to fit Sprinter van windows for a clean, secure exhaust duct install. Ideal for Sprinter-based camper van builds.
- Window Venting Kit for Ram ProMaster (2013+): Custom-fit window panel for ProMaster vans. Drop it in and connect the duct - no cutting or fabrication needed.
- Window Venting Kit for Ford Transit (2015-2024): Designed specifically for Transit van window openings for a clean, rattle-free fit in Transit camper conversions.
- DIY Venting Kit for Universal Window with Cutting Tool: A flexible kit that works with most window openings. Includes a cutting tool so you can trim the panel to fit your exact window size - great for custom builds and non-standard vehicles.
- Tent Venting Kit for Mark 3 AC: Designed to route the exhaust hose out of a rooftop tent or ground tent without letting hot air recirculate inside. Perfect for overlanding and tent camping setups.

FAQ
How long will the battery last on a single charge?
Runtime depends on the mode and ambient conditions. In Sleep Mode (the quietest, most efficient setting), one 1022Wh battery lasts approximately 2-7 hours. With two batteries in series, expect 4-14 hours - enough to cool a truck cab or van all night. You can chain 3 or more batteries for even longer runtime. Rocket and Cool modes consume more power and will reduce runtime accordingly.
Can the Mark 3 run while the battery is charging?
Yes. The Mark 3 battery supports simultaneous charging and discharging, so you can run the unit while connected to solar panels, a vehicle port, or a wall outlet. This is ideal for daytime use when solar is available, extending your effective runtime indefinitely.
What size space can the Mark 3 cool?
The Mark 3 is designed for targeted cooling in enclosed spaces of 100 to 150 square feet - such as a truck sleeper cab, van interior, rooftop tent, or small room. It is not designed to cool an entire house or large open area. For best results, use it in an insulated, enclosed space with the exhaust hose properly vented to the outside.
Do I need to manually drain the water?
No. The Mark 3 features an active auto-drain system with a built-in micro sensor that monitors water levels and automatically activates an internal pump to drain condensation. Simply connect the included drainage pipe and let the unit handle it - no manual emptying required.
Which venting kit should I choose for my vehicle?
ZERO BREEZE offers custom-fit window venting kits for the Mercedes Sprinter (2007-2024+), Ram ProMaster (2013+), and Ford Transit (2015-2024). If your vehicle is not one of these, the DIY Universal Venting Kit with a cutting tool lets you trim a panel to fit most windows. For tent use, choose the Tent Venting Kit. If you already have a ducting solution or don't need a kit, select "No Venting Kit."
Can I charge the Mark 3 battery with solar panels?
Yes. The Mark 3 battery includes a built-in 500W MPPT solar charge controller, making it the first portable AC with native solar support. Connect any 12V-60V DC solar panel source and it will charge from 0% to 80% in about 2 hours under good solar conditions. This makes it ideal for fully off-grid setups with no shore power.
How loud is the Mark 3?
In Sleep Mode, the Mark 3 operates at just 46 dB - roughly equivalent to a quiet library. That is significantly quieter than competing battery-powered ACs (which typically run 55 dB or more) and dramatically quieter than any generator-based cooling setup. Most users find it easy to sleep through.
Does the Mark 3 also provide heat?
Yes. The Mark 3 includes a Heating mode with a 5,800 BTU output and a thermostat range of 64°F to 88°F. This makes it a true four-season climate system - useful for cool mornings, fall camping trips, or keeping a van or sleeper cab warm in cold weather without idling the engine.
