Whitehall High Boy 60 Gallon Stationary Whirlpool
Description
The Whitehall WHH-60-S is a 60-gallon stationary Hi-Boy whirlpool designed for clinical and athletic training environments where reliable hydrotherapy is essential. Built with heavy-duty Type 304 stainless steel, this tank delivers the durability and sanitation standards that physical therapists, athletic trainers, and foot and ankle specialists demand. The Hi-Boy design features taller sides that make it ideal for treating the lower back, hips, shoulders, and all lower extremities - offering full coverage from the lower back on down.
As a stationary unit, the WHH-60-S connects permanently to your facility's plumbing for a clean, professional installation with direct drain and water supply lines. The tank can also be converted into an ice bath for cold therapy by simply removing the turbine assembly, making it a versatile two-in-one treatment tool. With optional Enviro-Glaze powder coating and custom team or organizational logos, it can even be personalized to reflect your program's identity.

Options & Which to Choose
- Standard Drain (WHH-60-S): The standard configuration includes a high-capacity gravity drain built into the tank. Best for facilities with straightforward plumbing layouts and direct floor drain access.
- Separate Drain and Overflow Assembly (WHH-60-S-SDO): Adds a separate drain and overflow assembly for greater installation flexibility. Ideal for facilities requiring independent drain routing or overflow protection in the plumbing setup.
- Standard Plug: The default turbine comes with a standard plug for direct connection to a compatible outlet. Suitable for most athletic training rooms and clinical settings.
- Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) Option: Adds a GFI-equipped plug for additional electrical safety protection near water. Recommended - and often required by code - in wet clinical environments.
- Adjustable Suspension Seat (AS1): A seat accessory that suspends across the 20" wide tank, allowing patients to comfortably access the lower extremities while seated. Great for patients with limited mobility.
- Tank Top Seat (TTS1): A seat that rests on top of the tank rim, providing a stable perch for patients treating lower leg and foot conditions without full immersion.

FAQ
What is the difference between a Hi-Boy and a standard (Lo-Boy) whirlpool?
Hi-Boy whirlpools feature taller tank sides than standard Lo-Boy models. This allows for deeper immersion that reaches the lower back, hips, and shoulder areas - body regions that a shallower tank cannot fully treat. The WHH-60-S is a Hi-Boy model, making it well-suited for a wider range of hydrotherapy applications compared to lower-profile tanks.
Can this whirlpool be used for cold therapy / ice baths?
Yes. The WHH-60-S can be converted to a cold tank by removing the turbine assembly and thermometer. Once cold therapy is complete, simply reinstall the turbine and thermometer to return to warm-water whirlpool use. No separate cold therapy unit is needed.
Does this unit require professional installation?
Yes. As a stationary whirlpool, the WHH-60-S requires a permanent plumbing connection to your facility's water supply and drain lines. Professional plumbing installation is strongly recommended to ensure proper connections, code compliance, and safe operation. Installation instructions are available as a downloadable PDF from Whitehall.
What electrical requirements does the WHH-60-S have?
The turbine operates on either 115V or 230V. At 115V, it draws 6.9 amps at 50 Hz or 6.2 amps at 60 Hz. At 230V, it draws 3.5 amps at 50 Hz or 3.1 amps at 60 Hz. A Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) plug is available as an optional upgrade and is recommended - or may be required by local electrical code - in wet clinical environments.
What accessories are available for this whirlpool?
Whitehall offers several compatible accessories for the WHH-60-S, including an Adjustable Suspension Seat (AS1) designed for the 20" wide tank and a Tank Top Seat (TTS1). These allow patients with limited mobility to comfortably position themselves for lower extremity treatment. A separate drain and overflow assembly (SDO option) and Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) plug are also available.
Is the stainless steel tank easy to clean and sanitize?
Yes. Type 304 stainless steel is one of the most hygienic and easy-to-clean materials available for clinical equipment. It resists corrosion, does not harbor bacteria, and can be sanitized with standard clinical cleaning agents. All water-contact parts - including the turbine components - are made of stainless steel, chrome-plated brass, or bronze for maximum cleanliness.
