- Yamamoto #40 Neoprene + SQ-Flex Lining: Located on shoulders, arms, and armpits for 630% elongation - maximum flexibility exactly where your stroke demands it most.
- Full-Body Yamamoto SCS Coating: Smooth, water-resistant surface coating covering the entire suit reduces drag and improves hydrodynamic performance for faster swimming with the same effort.
- Arms-Up Design: Positions your arms in the optimal neutral position for swimming, noticeably reducing stroke effort during long open-water swims and triathlon races.
- 3D GSP (Groove-Shaped Paddle) System: Textured forearm panels generate extra propulsion with every stroke, helping you get more out of each pull.
- Leg Elevation + Stable Trinity Support: Strategic buoyancy placement in the thighs reduces drag by optimizing body position, while the Trinity Support system maintains a balanced centerline for efficient side-to-side movement.
- V-Shape Ankle Panel (1.5mm Yamamoto #39 Neoprene): Designed for fast, effortless T1 transitions - slip out of the suit quickly without sacrificing thermal protection at the ankles.
- Ti-a-Seal Neck & Cuff Technology: Reduces skin abrasion, retains body heat, and ensures comfort in colder water - rated for use down to 46°F / 8°C.
- Top-Tier YKK Internal Zipper: Anti-corrosion, ultra-smooth, and hidden to eliminate additional drag created by exposed zipper hardware.
- Eco-Friendly Construction: Crafted from 100% limestone-derived Yamamoto neoprene (allergen-free, petroleum-free), benzene-free adhesives, and Oeko-Tex certified recycled lining fabrics - including Slip Skin panels made from recycled plastic water bottles. Each purchase helps recycle 40 plastic bottles.

Sizes & Which to Choose
- XS (5'2"-5'7" / 104-123 lbs): Best for lighter, shorter frames. Prioritize your weight over height when selecting.
- S (5'4"-5'8" / 121-143 lbs): Standard short-torso fit for lean, average-height athletes.
- ST (5'8"-6'0" / 121-152 lbs): Tall cut for taller, leaner athletes who need extra length in the torso and legs.
- SM (5'7"-5'10" / 139-161 lbs): Short/medium - ideal for stockier builds at medium height.
- M (5'8"-6'0" / 150-163 lbs): The most common size for average height and build - a great starting point if you're between S and M.
- MT (5'9"-6'3" / 150-172 lbs): Medium-tall for longer-limbed athletes with a medium build who find standard M too short.
- ML (5'8"-6'2" / 154-181 lbs): Medium-large for broader, taller athletes needing extra room through the shoulders and chest.
- L (5'10"-6'3" / 179-203 lbs): Standard large for bigger, athletic builds - popular with broader-shouldered swimmers.
- LT (5'11"-6'5" / 179-207 lbs): Large-tall for tall, athletic frames who need added length without moving up to XL volume.
- XL (6'0"-6'5" / 203-220 lbs): For larger, taller athletes who need more room throughout.
- XXL (6'2"-6'7" / 214-254 lbs): The largest option - built for big, tall athletes who need maximum volume and length.
When in doubt between two sizes, choose the larger one. Base your primary decision on weight, not height.

FAQ
How do I choose the right size for the Vanguard wetsuit?
Base your size selection primarily on your weight, not your height. If you fall between two sizes, Sumarpo recommends choosing the larger one. The Vanguard offers 11 size options - including tall (T) and short/medium (SM) cuts - to accommodate a wide range of body types. The wetsuit should feel snug on dry land; it will ease slightly once you're in the water. Sumarpo also offers a fitting-size service if you need additional guidance.
What water temperature is the Vanguard suitable for?
The Vanguard is rated for a minimum water temperature of 46°F / 8°C. The Ti-a-Seal technology at the neck and cuffs helps retain body heat and reduce abrasion, making it a solid choice for cold open-water swims and early-season triathlons.
What makes this wetsuit eco-friendly?
The Vanguard is built with 100% limestone-derived Yamamoto neoprene - a sustainable, allergen-free alternative to petroleum-based neoprene. It uses benzene-free adhesives, Oeko-Tex certified recycled lining fabrics, and Slip Skin panels made from recycled plastic water bottles. Every purchase contributes to the recycling of 40 plastic bottles.
Can I return the wetsuit if it doesn't fit?
Yes - Sumarpo offers a 30-day return window. They even encourage you to take a test swim before deciding, so you can truly assess the fit in real conditions before committing to your purchase.
How should I care for my Vanguard wetsuit?
Always use your palms and finger pads - not fingernails - when putting on or removing the suit to avoid tears. Rinse with clean, cold, fresh water after each use. Air-dry in the shade away from direct sunlight, which can degrade the neoprene over time. Proper care will help you get the full value out of Sumarpo's 2-year material warranty.
What is the Aero Boost 5.0 technology?
Aero Boost 5.0 is Sumarpo's patented buoyancy system built into the Vanguard. It provides 34% more buoyancy than Aerodome technology, making the overall suit 9% more buoyant than competing wetsuits using Aerodome. The Leg Elevation design adds strategic buoyancy in the thighs to optimize body position and reduce drag, helping you swim faster with less effort.
