FAQ
How is the Encompass PowerTower different from other Total Gym units?
The Encompass PowerTower is specifically engineered for rehabilitation and sports-specific recovery. Its motorized level lift assist allows therapists to change resistance levels while the patient keeps exercising - no dismounting needed. Combined with dual remote control handles, 26 calibrated incline levels (1%-72% bodyweight), and the built-in Slide Distance Regulator, it offers a level of clinical precision and versatility that standard Total Gym units simply cannot match.
Will the Encompass PowerTower fit in my facility?
Yes. When unfolded, the unit measures 106" L x 38" W x 65" H. When not in use, the hydraulic lift assist makes folding easy and the unit stores upright at just 20" x 38" x 65" - rolling in hand-truck fashion so it can be repositioned around your space with minimal effort.
Can it be used with patients who have spinal injuries or post-surgical restrictions?
Absolutely. The adjustable glideboard promotes optimal spinal alignment across its 7 positions, and the built-in Slide Distance Regulator allows you to precisely limit the rolling range of the glideboard - which is especially useful for patients with post-surgical range-of-motion restrictions. The incline can be fine-tuned to any patient's current ability level, making it suitable for nearly all patients with physical rehabilitation needs.
Does the motorized feature require special electrical setup?
No special modifications are needed for US facilities. The Encompass PowerTower plugs into a standard US wall outlet (115-230 VAC, 50-60 Hz). Facilities outside the US simply need to use the appropriate wall socket adapter for their country - no special wiring or dedicated circuits required.
How does the unit ship and does it require assembly?
The Encompass PowerTower ships freight on a pallet. The shipping weight is 306 lbs. and the shipping dimensions are 70" x 30" x 19" including the pallet. Some setup is required upon arrival. Contact us at service@omahasportsandgames.com for delivery ETA and any specific logistics questions.
What kinds of exercises can be performed on the Encompass PowerTower?
The Encompass PowerTower supports over 200 exercises and variations, including closed-chain joint loading, multi-plane resistance training, Pilates-based movements, explosive plyometric training for upper and lower extremities, core stabilization, and sports-specific conditioning. The dynamic pulley system allows both unilateral and bilateral arm-cable work, and the LAT bars support line-of-pull specificity for a full range of upper-body movements.
What training resources are available for staff and patients?
Total Gym offers a Physical Therapy In-Service video solution designed to enhance the effectiveness of the Encompass PowerTower in clinical settings. Additional training DVDs and digital resources are also available. The unit also comes with an Owner's Guide, Resistance Chart, and Product Sheet - all available for download on this page.
