SI-TEX V200 NMEA0183 GNSS SAT Compass with 49' Cable & Pole Mount

Description

The SI-TEX V200 SAT Compass is a high-performance GNSS heading sensor designed for mariners who demand precision navigation in a compact, reliable package. Supporting L1 GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS satellite systems, this compass delivers outstanding multi-constellation accuracy wherever you navigate. With 0.75-degree heading accuracy and an impressively small form factor, the V200 punches well above its weight for professional and recreational marine applications alike.

Integrated gyro and tilt sensors ensure fast start-up times and continuous heading updates even during temporary satellite signal loss, so you're never left without orientation data at a critical moment. The V200 also delivers heave, roll, and pitch data alongside heading and positioning, making it a true all-in-one attitude and navigation sensor. Optional Atlas correction support provides up to 30 cm RMS worldwide positioning accuracy for users who need sub-meter precision.

Key Features

  • Multi-Constellation GNSS: Receives L1 GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS signals for robust, worldwide satellite coverage.
  • 0.75-Degree Heading Accuracy: Delivers precise, reliable heading data in an amazingly compact form factor.
  • Optional 30 cm RMS Accuracy: Supports Atlas GNSS corrections for sub-meter worldwide positioning performance.
  • Integrated Gyro & Tilt Sensors: Ensures fast start-up times and maintains heading updates during temporary loss of satellite signals.
  • Full Attitude Output: Provides heading, positioning, heave, roll, and pitch data in a single unit.
  • Excellent Interference Rejection: Outstanding in-band and out-of-band interference rejection for clean signal reception in busy RF environments.
  • 49' Cable Included: Comes with a 49-foot cable for flexible installation across a range of vessel sizes and layouts.
  • Pole Mount Included: Pole mount hardware is included for straightforward above-deck installation.
  • NMEA0183 Output (VECTOR200-0): Compatible with a wide range of legacy and modern marine electronics via standard NMEA0183 protocol.

Model Options & Which to Choose

  • VECTOR200-0 (NMEA0183): Outputs heading and attitude data over the widely supported NMEA0183 protocol. The right choice for vessels with chartplotters, autopilots, or navigation software that use the traditional serial NMEA0183 interface - a proven standard compatible with a vast range of existing marine electronics.
  • VECTOR200-2 (NMEA2000): Outputs over the NMEA2000 network backbone, ideal for modern vessels with a fully integrated NMEA2000 bus. Plug-and-play compatibility with contemporary chartplotters, autopilots, and displays from Garmin, Simrad, Furuno, and others that support the N2K standard.

Why You'll Love It

The SI-TEX V200 is trusted by professional mariners and serious recreational boaters who won't compromise on navigation accuracy. SI-TEX has a long-standing reputation for building rugged, dependable marine electronics engineered to perform in demanding offshore and coastal conditions. The multi-constellation GNSS engine means you stay locked onto satellites even in challenging environments where single-system receivers struggle. Built-in gyro and tilt compensation means your heading data stays steady and reliable even when the sky goes quiet. Whether you're outfitting a new build or upgrading an existing vessel, the V200's combination of precision, compact design, and full attitude output makes it one of the most capable SAT compasses in its class.

FAQ

What is the difference between the NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 versions?

The VECTOR200-0 outputs data over NMEA0183, the traditional serial protocol supported by a huge range of older and newer marine electronics. The VECTOR200-2 uses the NMEA2000 (N2K) network standard, which is common on modern vessel installations with a shared backbone bus. Choose NMEA0183 if your chartplotter, autopilot, or display uses serial NMEA connections, and NMEA2000 if your vessel runs an integrated N2K network.

What does "SAT Compass" mean compared to a traditional magnetic compass?

A SAT Compass derives heading from GNSS satellite signals rather than Earth's magnetic field, which means it is not affected by magnetic deviation from onboard equipment, engines, or metalwork. This results in more consistent and accurate heading data, especially on steel or aluminum vessels or those with heavy electrical systems. The V200 also adds integrated gyro and tilt sensors for added stability.

Does the V200 work in areas with poor satellite coverage?

Yes. The V200 supports five satellite constellations (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS), which dramatically increases the number of visible satellites at any location worldwide. Additionally, the integrated gyro and tilt sensors continue to provide heading updates during temporary satellite signal loss, keeping your navigation systems informed even in challenging conditions.

What is Atlas correction and do I need it?

Atlas is a GNSS correction service that improves positioning accuracy to an optional 30 cm RMS worldwide. It is useful for applications requiring sub-meter precision, such as dynamic positioning, advanced autopilot systems, or survey work. For standard navigation and heading use, the base accuracy of the V200 is already excellent without Atlas corrections.

Is professional installation required for the V200?

The V200 comes with a pole mount and 49-foot cable to simplify installation. While many experienced boaters can install the unit themselves following the provided installation guide, professional installation is recommended to ensure proper cable routing, grounding, and integration with your vessel's navigation electronics for best performance.
