Rae Crowther 2-7 Man Varsity S-Advantage Football Blocking Sled with Hit-Tech
Description
The Rae Crowther Varsity S-Advantage 2 Man Blocking Sled is one of the most versatile and battle-tested football training tools available for serious programs. Designed for varsity-level competition, this sled allows players to develop blocking technique for virtually every position and situation - hands, punch, forearm, shoulder, rip, swim, trap pulls, down blocks, and more. The S-Pads accurately represent real contact positions, extending close to the ground to enable crab blocks and goal line work, eliminating the need for a separate low-boy sled.
Built with heavy steel construction, the sled is engineered to resist - each player is effectively driving 240 lbs., developing the power base and leverage needed at the varsity level. The proprietary Hit-Tech Leverage Mechanism teaches players violent hands and hip drive by progressively increasing resistance as the pad rises, requiring 189 lbs. per inch of force to leverage (plus the 90 lb. pad plate weight). With 56" center-to-center pad spacing and players able to run through the open sled frame, no other sled delivers this range of training possibilities in a single unit.
Key Features
- Hit-Tech Leverage Mechanism: Progressively increases resistance as the pad rises - requires 189 lbs. per inch of force plus a 90 lb. pad plate, teaching proper hip drive and violent hand technique.
- Three S-Pad Options (S1, S2, S3): S1 is the standard full-body pad representing player angles; S2 adds a breast plate and short stubby arms for handle and hand placement difficulty; S3 features narrow hand pockets for maximum accuracy and power.
- 56" Center-to-Center Pad Spacing: Wide pad spacing simulates realistic line of scrimmage conditions and gives players proper room to work.
- Open Frame Design: Players can run through the sled frame - only one connector link between each pad, positioned just above the ground.
- Heavy Steel Construction: Built to resist - each player drives an effective 240 lbs., developing and maintaining a strong power base.
- Goal Line and Crab Block Ready: S-Pads extend close to the ground, enabling low-leverage situations without needing a separate sled.
- Removable Pads: Each pad unzips and unlocks via Velcro straps for easy removal and compact storage.
- Multi-Technique Training: Works hands, punch, forearm, shoulder, rip, swim, traps, pulls, down blocks, pass pro drills, and defensive techniques - like four sleds in one.
- Available Colors: Black, Navy, Royal Blue, Red, and Green pad colors to match your team's identity.
- Optional Wheel Kit: Available add-on wheel and jack system for moving the sled across track surfaces without tools - jacks stay mounted to the chassis and do not affect sled performance.

Why You'll Love It
Rae Crowther has been building championship-level football training equipment trusted by high school and college programs across the country for decades. The Varsity S-Advantage Sled is the cornerstone of their lineup because it genuinely does the work of multiple sleds - every blocking technique your linemen, tight ends, and backs need can be trained in a single session on one piece of equipment. The Hit-Tech Leverage Mechanism isn't a gimmick; it's a proven teaching tool that physically forces players to bring their hips through contact, building the habits that separate good blockers from dominant ones. Built with uncompromising heavy steel and backed by Rae Crowther's reputation for durability, this sled is engineered to outlast years of daily punishment at the varsity level. Coaches who invest in the S-Advantage Sled are investing in a training platform that grows with their program and never makes excuses. If you want your offensive and defensive lines to control the trenches, this is where that work gets done.

FAQ
What is the difference between the S1, S2, and S3 pad options?
The S1 is the standard S-Pad featuring a head, torso, waist, and knees that represent the angles of a player - great for general blocking technique. The S2 adds a breast plate with give so players can get a "handle," plus short stubby arms that mirror the difficulty of real hand placement. The S3 has narrow hand pockets to increase player accuracy and power, making it ideal for most blocking applications - though it is not recommended if you plan to teach tackling or angle blocking on the sled.
How does the Hit-Tech Leverage Mechanism work?
The Hit-Tech Leverage Mechanism allows each player to drive their pad from a low starting position up to a nearly upright position. As the pad rises, the resistance progressively increases - it requires 189 lbs. of force per inch of pad movement (plus the 90 lb. weight of the pad plate itself). This encourages players to drive their hips fully through each block rather than relying on their arms alone. Unlike other systems, the pad does not unlock and become lighter at any point - resistance stays consistent throughout the motion.
Can players run through the sled frame?
Yes - this is one of the key design advantages of the S-Advantage Sled. There is only a single connector link between each pad, and that link sits just above the ground, leaving the frame open for players to run through after contact. This allows for more realistic, full-motion blocking and pursuit drills.
Do I need a separate low-boy sled for goal line and crab block work?
No. Because the S-Pads extend close to the ground, the S-Advantage Sled handles crab blocks and goal line situations directly. You will not need to purchase or store a separate low-boy sled for these techniques.
How is this sled shipped and does it require assembly?
Due to its size and heavy steel construction, this sled ships as a large freight item, typically on a pallet. Please contact us at service@omahasportsandgames.com before ordering to confirm delivery logistics for your facility. Some on-site setup may be required upon delivery.
Is the Optional Wheel Kit included?
No, the Wheel Kit is an optional add-on and is not included with the standard sled purchase. The wheel and jack system mounts directly to the sled chassis and requires no tools to operate - simply crank each jack handle to raise the sled for easy rolling across a track or hard surface. Contact us if you would like to add it to your order.
What pad colors are available?
Pads are available in Black, Navy, Royal Blue, Red, and Green so you can match your team's colors. The color is selected at the time of purchase.
