Oceaneva WaveRacer 1000m Mechanical Chronograph Automatic Grade 5 Titanium Watch Dark Blue
Description
The Oceaneva WaveRacer 1000m Mechanical Chronograph is a landmark achievement in modern horology - the first automatic chronograph ever to combine a column-wheel movement with vertical clutch design, 1000m water resistance, and Grade 5 Titanium construction in a single timepiece. Built for the discerning collector who demands historical significance, elite craftsmanship, and genuine investment value, the WaveRacer delivers a specification set that competitors charge $8,000-$20,000 or more to approach - and still fall short. At the heart of the watch beats the Oceaneva 4155 caliber, a 288-component, 41-jewel integrated chronograph movement operating at 28,800 bph with a 55-hour power reserve and exceptional finishing throughout.
The Dark Blue Burst dial with Blue Guilloché subdial rings and red outlines delivers a striking depth of texture and light, while Grade A BGW9 Swiss Luminova on the bezel, hands, and indices ensures flawless legibility in any environment - from pitch-black waters to the depths of 1000 meters. Strictly limited to just 50 individually serialized units, each WaveRacer is a numbered piece of horological history, shipped in premium packaging designed to match the prestige of what's inside.

Why You'll Love It
The WaveRacer is more than a watch - it is a documented first in watchmaking history, and one of only 50 ever produced globally. Oceaneva is the only USA-based brand to have ever ocean-tested their watches at depth, and only the 6th brand in history to do so, a level of real-world validation that gives serious collectors genuine peace of mind. At just 4.6 oz total weight, the Grade 5 Titanium construction wears with a lightness that belies just how tough and capable this instrument truly is. The movement finishing - Cotes de Geneve on the rotor, Perlage on the plates, Soleillage on the bridges, heat-blued screws - reflects a commitment to craftsmanship that punches well above its price point. Whether you are adding to a serious collection or acquiring your first investment-grade timepiece, the WaveRacer delivers a specification, finishing, and rarity combination that simply does not exist elsewhere at this price. Claim your numbered piece of horological history before this limited run is gone.

FAQ
What makes the WaveRacer's 1000m water resistance significant for a chronograph?
Achieving 1000m water resistance in a mechanical chronograph is extremely rare because chronograph pushers create additional points of potential water ingress. Oceaneva solved this with screw-down pushers that each contain four independent sets of seals, plus a screw-down crown - a multi-layered engineering solution that most brands have never attempted at this depth rating. The vast majority of mechanical chronographs on the market are rated at 100m or less.
What is a column-wheel vertical clutch chronograph movement, and why does it matter?
A column-wheel controls chronograph functions with a precision rotating wheel rather than a simple cam-and-lever system, resulting in a smoother, more tactile pusher feel and more consistent engagement. The vertical clutch further refines this by engaging the chronograph mechanism from above, eliminating the jumping seconds hand effect seen in horizontal clutch designs. Together, these features represent the gold standard in chronograph movement engineering, typically found only in much higher-priced watches.
Why is Grade 5 Titanium better than stainless steel for a dive watch?
Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) is 227% stronger and 225% harder than stainless steel while being approximately 40% lighter. For a dive watch, this means you get a case that resists corrosion in saltwater, endures extreme pressure at depth, and wears far more comfortably on the wrist over long periods - without the weight and bulk of steel. The WaveRacer's bezel also receives a clear DLC coating rated at 1200 HV Vickers hardness, making it 5-8 times harder than bare Grade 5 Titanium for added scratch resistance.
Is this watch truly limited to 50 pieces?
Yes. The WaveRacer Dark Blue model (WROC4155DBLBLR5TT) is strictly limited to 50 pieces ever produced globally. Each watch carries an individual serial number (XX/50) that is matched to a Stainless Steel Certificate of Authenticity included in the packaging. Once these units are sold, this specific model will not be reissued.
How do I know my WaveRacer is authentic?
Every WaveRacer includes a Stainless Steel Certificate of Authenticity card engraved with the serial number matching your case. The inner bezel features an engraving of the Oceaneva Trident Logo and the word "WaveRacer" repeated four times as a built-in anti-counterfeiting measure. Oceaneva recommends purchasing only direct or through authorized dealers to ensure authenticity.
What strap options are available, and how do I get the right fit?
The WaveRacer comes fitted with a premium German FKM rubber strap, available in standard or extended lengths. Oceaneva will contact you prior to shipment to confirm your wrist size and ensure the correct strap length is included with your watch. The strap is secured with a polished Grade 5 Titanium buckle fastened by a robust screw system for a secure, reliable fit.
