New Moon Singing Bowl Set
Description
The New Moon Singing Bowl Set from Sukha Sound Healing & Singing Bowls is a rare, ceremonially crafted collection of seven healing-grade Himalayan singing bowls, made exclusively during the new moon - meaning only a handful of sets can be produced each year. Each bowl is hand-hammered over one million times and put through three firing processes, with only 5-10% of bowls ever meeting the strict standard of perfect healing-grade vibration. The set features the highest silver content of any bowl in the Sukha lineup - up to approximately 3% - as silver is considered to carry the energy of the moon, making these bowls especially powerful for moon rituals and intention-setting.
Hand carved on the outside with the sun and moon symbol and the Tibetan mantra for Tara - "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha" - these bowls carry deep spiritual meaning alongside their extraordinary acoustic properties. Perfectly tuned to the vedic chakra system, this complete set covers all seven chakras (C through B) and is ideal for sound baths, meditation, self-healing, massage, and ceremonial practice. A multi-generational family in Nepal hand-selects each bowl, ensuring you receive an instrument of genuine, rare quality.

FAQ
What makes the New Moon Singing Bowl Set different from a standard singing bowl set?
These bowls are crafted ceremonially during new moon periods, which limits production to just a few sets per year. They also carry a significantly higher silver content - up to approximately 3% compared to less than 0.5% in standard bowls - which is believed to channel lunar energy and produces a distinctly resonant, expansive tone. Additionally, every bowl is hand-selected by a multi-generational Nepali artisan family and must meet a healing-grade standard that only 5-10% of bowls achieve.
What is the Tara mantra carved on the bowls, and what does it mean?
The mantra "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha" is the mantra of Tara, a revered Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Tara's name means "star" or "planet," and she is associated with navigation, protection, and spiritual liberation - literally understood as "she who saves." Having this mantra hand-carved onto the bowls infuses them with centuries of sacred intention and adds a ceremonial depth beyond their acoustic qualities.
Can I use this set for professional sound baths?
Absolutely. The set is tuned to cover all seven chakras (C through B) in the vedic system and includes mallets, rotating sticks, cushions, and a tingshaw - everything a practitioner needs to run a full sound bath. The healing-grade vibration standard these bowls are held to makes them well-suited for professional therapeutic and ceremonial use.
What is a Puja blessing, and why does it matter?
A Puja is a traditional Hindu and Buddhist ceremonial offering and blessing ritual performed at a temple. Before your set is shipped, a Puja blessing is performed at a temple in Nepal and recorded on video - which is included with your order. This ritual honors the sacred tradition behind the bowls and is meaningful to practitioners who want their instruments to carry authentic spiritual intention.
Are these bowls suitable for beginners?
Yes - the included mallets and rotating sticks make it easy to get started right away, and the bowls are forgiving enough for beginners while being precise enough for advanced practitioners. That said, given their ceremonial craftsmanship and premium materials, this set is particularly well-suited for those who are serious about sound healing, chakra work, or building a meditation practice with intention.
