Mettler Auto*Wave 695 Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy Device
Description
The Mettler Auto*Wave 695 is a professional-grade Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy (RPPT) device - also known as Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Therapy (EPAT) - designed for clinical use in orthopedics, physical therapy, chiropractic, podiatry, and sports medicine. Using a silent built-in air compressor, the unit fires a ballistic projectile inside the ergonomic hand piece, generating high-energy acoustic waves that penetrate deep into muscle and tissue. These acoustic pulses trigger the body's natural healing response, reduce pain, and increase local blood circulation. Short treatment times and a clinician-friendly ergonomic design help reduce hand and arm fatigue during busy clinic days.
The Auto*Wave 695 is built for durability and ease of use, featuring a 7-color touch screen display, built-in treatment protocols with visual guides, multiple language support, and on-site repairable components. Whether treating tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain, or other musculoskeletal conditions, this device gives clinicians a powerful, versatile tool that requires minimal downtime and supports long-term, cost-effective operation.

FAQ
What is Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy and how does it work?
Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy (RPPT) - also known in Europe as EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Therapy) - uses a ballistic mechanism to generate high-energy acoustic waves that radiate into targeted muscle and tissue. These pulses reduce pain, stimulate the body's natural healing response, and temporarily increase local blood circulation. The Auto*Wave 695 achieves this using a silent internal air compressor to fire a ballistic projectile inside the hand piece, converting kinetic energy into therapeutic pulse energy at the transmitter tip.
Is Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy comfortable for patients?
Most patients describe the sensation as a relaxing pulsation from the applicator transmitter. The high-intensity pulses travel deep into painful tissues to relieve pain and increase circulation. Treatment intensity can be precisely adjusted via the pressure and frequency settings to match each patient's comfort level and clinical needs.
How often does the applicator need to be serviced?
It is recommended that maintenance be performed after every 1 million shocks delivered. The Auto*Wave 695 includes built-in tracking software to monitor usage. Each unit comes with a Reversion Kit (1 bullet and 1 metal pipe) for in-clinic replacement, allowing for up to 2 million total shocks before additional kits are needed. Additional reversion kits are sold separately, and all maintenance can be performed on-site - no need to send the applicator in for service.
How many applicator transmitters come with the unit, and can I buy more?
The Auto*Wave 695 comes standard with two applicator transmitters: 15mm and 20mm. A total of six applicator transmitter sizes - ranging from 6mm to 36mm - are available for purchase separately, giving clinicians flexibility to treat a wide range of body areas and tissue targets.
Do I need ultrasound gel during treatment?
Yes, ultrasound coupling gel is highly recommended for use during treatment. The gel allows the clinician to glide the applicator smoothly across the skin for optimal contact, and provides a medium through which the pressure pulses can be more efficiently transmitted into the treatment tissues for better clinical outcomes.
What clinical settings and conditions is the Auto*Wave 695 used for?
The Auto*Wave 695 is used across a variety of clinical settings including orthopedics, physical therapy, podiatry, chiropractic, and sports medicine. Indicated uses include helping relieve minor muscle aches and pains and temporarily increasing local blood circulation. It is commonly applied to conditions such as tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, shoulder impingement, lateral epicondylitis, and other musculoskeletal complaints.
