FAQ
What is the difference between the GO-FT3 and GO-FT4?
The primary difference is the weight stack size. The GO-FT3 comes with a 300 lb. weight stack (150 lbs. effective resistance with both handles), while the GO-FT4 features a 400 lb. stack (200 lbs. effective resistance with both handles). The GO-FT4 is heavier overall at 643.4 lbs. versus 543.4 lbs. for the GO-FT3. If your facility serves serious strength athletes or competitive athletes who need heavier loads, the GO-FT4 is the better choice. For general fitness and mixed-use environments, the GO-FT3 handles the vast majority of training needs.
What does "variable pulley ratio" mean and why does it matter?
Variable pulley ratio means the machine can change the mechanical advantage of the cable system, effectively altering how the resistance feels relative to the weight on the stack. At a 1:2 ratio, users lift a higher percentage of the actual stack weight, which is ideal for traditional strength training. At a 1:4 ratio, resistance is lighter relative to the stack, making it better for fast, explosive, or athletic movements. This versatility means one machine can serve a wide range of training styles without needing multiple pieces of equipment.
Does this functional trainer require anchoring to the floor?
Yes, the Matrix GO Series Functional Trainer includes machine anchoring locations, and it is recommended to anchor it to the floor for safety and stability during use. Proper anchoring is especially important in high-traffic commercial environments. Please consult the installation documentation or contact your Matrix dealer for specific anchoring requirements and hardware.
What accessories are compatible with the GO Series Functional Trainer?
The GO Series is compatible with the Matrix GO Series Optional Handle Package, which includes a Straight Bar, EZ Curl Bar, Rope, Sport Handle, and Ankle Cuff. The machine also features integrated accessory storage so attachments stay organized on the unit. Additional compatible accessories may be available - contact us for details.
How is this machine delivered and does it require assembly?
Due to its size and weight (543-643 lbs. depending on model), the Matrix GO Series Functional Trainer ships via freight on a pallet. Professional delivery and installation are typically recommended. Please email us at service@omahasportsandgames.com to confirm delivery details, installation support options, and estimated lead times for your area.
Is this trainer suitable for a facility with low ceilings?
Yes - the GO Series was specifically designed with a compact height of just 83.5" (212 cm), making it one of the more ceiling-friendly commercial functional trainers available. This makes it a great fit for basement gyms, hotel fitness centers, school weight rooms, and other facilities where ceiling clearance is limited.
