HCI Fitness PhysioMax Total Body Trainer - Upper Body Ergometer and Recumbent Bike
Description
The HCI Fitness PhysioMax is an all-in-one Total Body Trainer that combines an Upper Body Ergometer (UBE) and a Recumbent Bike into a single, commercial-grade rehabilitation machine. Its patent-pending independent drive system allows users to work the upper body, lower body, or both simultaneously - making it one of the most versatile therapy and fitness machines available. Designed for rehabilitation clinics, physical therapy facilities, and serious home users alike, the PhysioMax accommodates a wide range of mobility levels and physical conditions.
The walk-through design and 360-degree swivel seat make getting on and off the machine safe and accessible for users with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. With 32 levels of smooth electromagnetic resistance, 20 preset programs, and a large 9" HD LCD display, the PhysioMax delivers a complete, trackable workout experience. Built in the USA by a family-owned manufacturer and registered with the FDA as a Class 1 medical device, the PhysioMax is engineered for reliability and long-term therapeutic value.

Manuals & Guides
FAQ
Can the PhysioMax be used by wheelchair users?
Yes - the PhysioMax is specifically designed with wheelchair users in mind. The seat is fully removable to allow wheelchair access, and the walk-through frame design makes it easy to position a wheelchair directly in front of the machine. Optional wheelchair ramps are also available as an add-on for even smoother access.
Can I use just the upper body or just the lower body at a time?
Absolutely. The PhysioMax's patent-pending independent drive system allows you to operate the upper body ergometer (UBE) and the recumbent bike completely independently. You can use arms only, legs only, or both together for a full total body workout - making it ideal for rehabilitation programs that progress gradually.
Is the PhysioMax suitable for someone who is very deconditioned or recovering from surgery?
Yes. The PhysioMax starts at a very low resistance level specifically designed for deconditioned users and those in early-stage recovery. The resistance increments are gradual, so users can progress at their own pace. The swivel seat and walk-through design also minimize the physical effort required just to get on and off the machine.
What is the difference between the base PhysioMax and the add-on options?
The base PhysioMax includes all core features - independent UBE and recumbent bike motion, 32-level resistance, 20 programs, and the 360-degree swivel seat. The add-on options include arm rests for extra lateral support, adjustable lower body cranks for a wider range of leg length accommodation, and wheelchair ramps for seamless wheelchair-to-machine transfer. These add-ons are ideal for clinical settings or users with specific accessibility needs.
Does the PhysioMax require a special power outlet?
No - the PhysioMax plugs into a standard wall outlet and is compatible with AC 110V-220V at 50/60Hz, so it works with standard US residential and commercial outlets without any special wiring.
How does the PhysioMax ship and how difficult is assembly?
The PhysioMax ships via LTL freight truck on a pallet and arrives approximately 85% pre-assembled. Delivery is to your garage or a flat area accessible by a pallet jack - the freight carrier cannot enter your home. The unit has wheels for easy indoor transport, and all tools required for final assembly are included. You'll be contacted by the freight company ahead of time to schedule your delivery appointment.
