FAQ
Who is the eTrainer best suited for?
The eTrainer is ideal for seniors, individuals recovering from surgery or injury, stroke rehabilitation patients, and anyone with limited mobility who needs gentle, motorized assistance to stay active. Its wheelchair-accessible design and passive motor-driven motion mean users don't need to provide any pedaling force on their own - making it accessible even for those with very limited strength or range of motion.
Can I use the eTrainer from a wheelchair?
Yes. The eTrainer is specifically designed to work with most standard wheelchairs. You simply position your wheelchair in front of the unit, place your feet in the oversized ortho pedals, and grip the handles. No transfer to another seat is required.
Can I use just my arms or just my legs, or do I have to use both at once?
The eTrainer supports three modes: arms only, legs only, or simultaneous arms and legs. The two independent motors allow each limb set to be engaged separately, so you can customize your workout based on your therapy goals or physical ability.
Is the eTrainer easy to assemble?
Yes, assembly is minimal. The primary components requiring assembly are the pedals and the hydraulic tube. A user manual is included, and HCI also provides a Quick Assembly Video to walk you through the process. Most users can complete setup in under 30 minutes.
What is the optional chair accessory?
HCI offers an optional chair that attaches directly to the eTrainer unit, accommodating users from 4'9" to 6'1" with a 250 lb. weight capacity. This is a great option if you don't have a standard chair or wheelchair to use with the trainer. The optional chair is sold separately and is not included in the standard package.
How does the eTrainer ship?
The eTrainer ships via UPS, which means it is delivered directly to your door just like a standard parcel - no freight appointment or special equipment needed. Shipping is free to the contiguous 48 states.
