FAQ
Does the Xero X1i work with any crossbow, or only specific brands?
The Xero X1i is compatible with virtually any crossbow. The AutoCal feature calibrates aim points for bow speeds up to 650 FPS out to 80 yards, and you can create custom bolt profiles for multiple setups. Garmin also offers a special edition version with preloaded Ravin crossbow specifications for hunters using Ravin equipment.
Do I need a separate Garmin GPS device for the Laser Locate feature?
Yes, the Laser Locate (waypoint projection) feature requires a compatible Garmin GPS device, which is sold separately. The scope itself communicates via ANT+ wireless connectivity and is compatible with a wide range of Garmin devices including fēnix, Instinct, GPSMAP, and Alpha series products. Check the full compatible devices list for details.
Is the Xero X1i legal to use for hunting in my state?
Laws regarding electronic crossbow scopes vary by state and jurisdiction. Some areas regulate or prohibit the use of electronic sighting devices for hunting. It is your responsibility to know and obey all local and state hunting regulations before using this device. Check with your state's wildlife agency if you are unsure.
How long do the batteries last and what type does it use?
The Xero X1i runs on 2 AAA lithium batteries and is rated for up to 1 year of battery life under normal use. Two AAA lithium batteries are included in the box, so you can get started right away.
Is the scope waterproof? Can I use it in rain or heavy weather?
Yes. The Xero X1i carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it is sealed against rain, splashing, and temporary submersion. It is built to handle all hunting conditions and operates in temperatures ranging from -4 deg F to 140 deg F, so it is ready for everything from cold early-season mornings to wet late-season hunts.
What is the difference between the ranging distances listed?
The Xero X1i can range targets at different distances depending on the target's reflectivity. It ranges game animals (low reflectivity) up to 450 meters, standard reflective targets up to 225 meters, and black or very low-reflectivity targets up to 115 meters. All ranging is angle-compensated for accurate holdover on steep uphill or downhill shots.
