Garmin Force Kraken Trolling Motor with Remote Control and GT56UHD-TR Transducer
Description
The Garmin Force Kraken is a next-generation trolling motor engineered for serious anglers who demand precision, power, and seamless integration on the water. Built with a pivot-style mount for easy installation in vessels where bow space is limited, it accommodates a wide range of boat sizes across multiple shaft lengths - from 48" all the way up to 110" for high-freeboard hulls. The brushless motor design delivers 100 lbs of thrust while running whisper-quiet above and below the waterline, so you never spook the fish.
Backed by Garmin's legendary GPS technology, the Force Kraken features multi-band GPS Anchor Lock for rock-solid boat positioning, wireless chartplotter integration, and a floating wireless remote for total control from anywhere in the boat. The included GT56UHD-TR transducer brings ultra high-definition CHIRP, ClearVu, and SideVu sonar right to your fingertips, while LiveScope cable management keeps your rigging clean and protected. Available in Black or White, this is the trolling motor built to handle the rigors of open-water fishing - fresh, brackish, or salt.
Key Features
- 100 lbs of Thrust (ISO 13342): Legendary power output at 36V, or 80 lbs at 24V - handles rough open-water conditions with ease.
- Brushless Motor Design: Longer run times than brushed motors, ultra-quiet operation above and below the water, and extremely low sonar interference.
- Multi-Band GPS Anchor Lock: Most precise boat positioning technology in Garmin's lineup - keeps you locked on the exact spot while you fish.
- Pivot-Style Mount: Purpose-built for deep-V hulls and boats with limited bow space; multiple shaft lengths (48", 63", 75", 90", 110") fit a wide range of deck configurations.
- Built-in GT56UHD-TR Transducer: UHD traditional CHIRP (150-240 kHz), ClearVu, and SideVu sonar up to 800 ft depth in freshwater - brilliant clarity in one integrated package.
- Floating Wireless Remote: IPX7-rated, color MIP display, 43-week battery life - control steering, Anchor Lock, and autopilot features from anywhere in the boat.
- Wireless Chartplotter Integration: Connects to compatible Garmin ECHOMAP and GPSMAP chartplotters to create and follow routes hands-free while you fish.
- Garmin Smartwatch Control: Compatible with compatible quatix, fenix, tactix, and other Garmin wearables - control the motor right from your wrist.
- LiveScope Cable Management: Route your LiveScope transducer cable through the motor shaft for a clean, protected setup (accessory purchase required).
- Corrosion and Saltwater Protection: Composite shaft and all components designed to endure harsh marine environments - rated for freshwater, brackish, and saltwater use.
- 3-Year Warranty / Limited Lifetime on Shaft: Garmin backs this motor with strong coverage for long-term confidence on the water.
Shaft Length Options & Which to Choose
- 48" Shaft: Ideal for smaller, lower-profile boats with standard bow heights. A great fit for aluminum fishing boats and smaller bass boats where the motor mount sits closer to the waterline.
- 63" Shaft: A step up for mid-size boats with moderate freeboard. Works well on mid-range bass boats and multi-species rigs that need a little extra reach to keep the propeller fully submerged in chop.
- 75" Shaft: Suited for larger bass boats and moderate-freeboard fiberglass boats that fish in varied conditions. Provides reliable submersion depth when running in waves or on rough water.
- 90" Shaft: Designed for larger fiberglass boats, walleye rigs, and bigger multi-species platforms with higher bows. Keeps the prop at the right depth when the bow rides high or the water gets rough.
- 110" Shaft: Built for high-freeboard offshore-style boats, pontoons, and large center consoles. The longest option in the lineup, engineered specifically for vessels where a standard shaft simply won't reach the water effectively.

FAQ
What shaft length do I need for my boat?
Shaft length is measured from the bottom of the top cap to the top of the motor. The right length depends on your boat's freeboard (the height from the waterline to the bow deck). As a general rule, lower-profile aluminum fishing boats do well with 48"-63" shafts, mid-size bass boats typically use 63"-75", and larger fiberglass boats or high-freeboard hulls benefit from 90" or 110" shafts. Garmin provides a shaft length guide on their website to help you measure and select the correct size for your specific vessel.
Does the Force Kraken work with my Garmin chartplotter?
The Force Kraken is compatible with a wide range of Garmin chartplotters, including ECHOMAP UHD, ECHOMAP Ultra, GPSMAP 7xx, 8xx, 9xx series, and many more. It connects wirelessly to your chartplotter, allowing you to create and follow routes directly from the chart screen. A full list of compatible devices is available on the Garmin website. If your chartplotter is not on the list, the motor still operates fully as a standalone unit with the included remote.
Can I use this trolling motor in saltwater?
Yes. The Force Kraken is rated for use in freshwater, brackish water, and saltwater. All components are built with advanced corrosion and saltwater protection, and the composite shaft is engineered to withstand harsh marine environments. It is one of the few trolling motors in its class designed and rated for all three water types.
Is the GT56UHD-TR transducer included with every model?
The built-in GT56UHD-TR transducer is included on models ordered with the "Yes" transducer option. If you already have a compatible transducer or prefer to use a separate unit, a version without the built-in transducer is also available. All versions include the floating wireless remote, high efficiency propeller, and mounting hardware.
Can I control the Force Kraken from my Garmin smartwatch?
Yes. Compatible Garmin smartwatches - including select quatix, fenix, tactix, epix, MARQ, and Descent models - can connect to the Force Kraken to control steering, Anchor Lock, and other features right from your wrist. This is particularly useful when you are casting or landing a fish and cannot reach the remote or pedal.
Does the Force Kraken require assembly?
The Force Kraken ships with all assembly and mounting hardware included. Some installation is required to mount the motor to your boat's bow and connect the power cables to your batteries. Garmin provides detailed documentation and the pivot-style mount is designed for straightforward installation, even in tight bow spaces typical of deep-V hull boats.
