Furuno DRS6ANXT 25 Watt Solid-State Doppler Radar with Target Analyzer

Description

The Furuno DRS6ANXT is a 25-watt solid-state Doppler radar unit engineered for serious mariners who demand the highest level of situational awareness on the water. Featuring Furuno's exclusive Target Analyzer technology, this X-Band open array radar automatically identifies and color-codes approaching vessels in real time, making it easier than ever to spot threats before they become emergencies. Built with pulse compression technology and Fast Target Tracking, the DRS6ANXT delivers the kind of performance and precision traditionally reserved for much larger radar systems.

Compatible with NavNet TZtouch3, TZtouchXL, TZtouchE, and the FR10/FR12 Radar Series, the DRS6ANXT integrates seamlessly into Furuno's broader navigation ecosystem. Whether you're navigating busy shipping lanes, fishing offshore, or cruising coastal waters, this radar gives you a decisive edge. Please note: antenna and cable are sold separately.

Key Features

  • Target Analyzer with Doppler Technology: Automatically color-codes radar targets - red for approaching vessels, green for stationary or departing ones - boosting safety and situational awareness at a glance.
  • Fast Target Tracking (FTT): Displays speed and course vectors for selected targets within seconds using Doppler technology; approaching vessels trigger automatic vector display and audible alarms.
  • RezBoost Beam Sharpening: Furuno's exclusive RezBoost technology sharpens radar beam resolution, delivering the image quality of a much larger open array antenna in a compact package.
  • Bird Mode: Enhanced Bird Mode automatically adjusts gain and sea clutter settings to help identify birds gathering around surface schools of fish - a key tool for offshore fishing.
  • 25-Watt Solid-State Power Output: Solid-state transmitter provides 25W of output power with no magnetron - meaning faster startup, lower maintenance, and longer operational life.
  • 72 nm Range: Delivers exceptional detection range of up to 72 nautical miles, suitable for offshore and open-ocean navigation.
  • X-Band Open Array: Compatible with 3.5 ft, 4 ft, and 6 ft open array antennas (sold separately) offering beam widths of 2.3, 1.9, or 1.35 degrees respectively.
  • 12-24 VDC Power Input: Flexible dual-voltage power compatibility makes installation straightforward on a wide range of vessels.
  • NavNet TZtouch3 Compatible: Works with NavNet TZtouch3, TZtouchXL, TZtouchE, and the FR10/FR12 Radar Series for full multifunction display integration.
  • Pulse Compression Technology: Combines the close-range target resolution of short pulses with the long-range detection power of long pulses for superior all-range performance.

Why You'll Love It

Furuno has been a trusted name in marine electronics for decades, and the DRS6ANXT represents the pinnacle of their solid-state radar engineering. The Target Analyzer function - a Furuno-exclusive and a world first in commercial radar - fundamentally changes how mariners interpret radar data, turning raw echoes into actionable, color-coded safety information. For captains, fishermen, and offshore cruisers who spend real time on the water, this radar delivers peace of mind that no conventional magnetron unit can match. The combination of RezBoost beam sharpening, Bird Mode, and Fast Target Tracking means you're getting a truly multi-role instrument built for both navigation safety and fishing performance. Backed by Furuno's global support network and reputation for reliability, the DRS6ANXT is an investment that will serve you dependably for years to come.

FAQ

Does the DRS6ANXT include an antenna?

No, the DRS6ANXT is sold as a radar processor/transceiver unit only - antenna and cable are not included and must be purchased separately. Compatible open array antennas are available in 3.5 ft (XN10A/3.5), 4 ft (XN12A/4), and 6 ft (XN13A/6) sizes. If you need help selecting the right antenna for your application, feel free to reach out to us at service@omahasportsandgames.com.

What is the Target Analyzer function and how does it work?

Target Analyzer is Furuno's exclusive Doppler-based feature that automatically classifies radar targets by their motion relative to your vessel. Targets moving toward you are highlighted in red, while stationary targets or those moving away appear green. This color-coding updates dynamically as targets change their course and speed, and it works independently of your own vessel's speed. The result is faster, more intuitive threat recognition without the need to manually track every return on the screen.

What is the difference between the antenna size options?

Larger antennas produce a narrower beam width, which translates to sharper target discrimination and better separation of closely spaced targets. The 3.5 ft antenna offers a 2.3-degree beam, the 4 ft offers 1.9 degrees, and the 6 ft delivers 1.35 degrees. For most recreational and offshore fishing applications the 3.5 ft or 4 ft antenna provides an excellent balance of performance and practicality, while the 6 ft is preferred for commercial or long-range navigation use where maximum resolution matters.

What display is required to use the DRS6ANXT?

The DRS6ANXT is compatible with Furuno's NavNet TZtouch3, TZtouchXL, TZtouchE, TZMAP (dome radars only), and the FR10/FR12 Radar Series. The display is not included with the radar unit and must be purchased separately. Furuno's NavNet TZtouch3 series multifunction displays are the most current recommended pairing for full feature access including Target Analyzer and RezBoost.

What is the advantage of solid-state radar over a traditional magnetron radar?

Solid-state radars like the DRS6ANXT use semiconductor transmitters instead of a magnetron tube, which means there is no warm-up time - the radar is ready to use almost instantly. Solid-state units also have no moving parts in the transmitter, resulting in lower maintenance costs and a longer operational lifespan. They also enable pulse compression technology, which improves both close-range and long-range target detection simultaneously - something traditional magnetron designs cannot achieve as effectively.
