Freenotes Lilypad Cymbals - Park and Playground Musical Instrument
Description
The Freenotes Lilypad Cymbals bring a splash of musical creativity to parks, playgrounds, and outdoor gathering spaces. Users of all ages are invited to strike the multi-layered circular discs using three included mallets, producing bright, clear tones across a 10-note C Major Pentatonic scale. Unlike traditional drum-set cymbals, the Lilypad offers a wider variety of tones, making it a rich standalone instrument and a compelling complement to other Freenotes Harmony Park instruments. Crafted from anodized aluminum in the Crotales style, it delivers resonant alto and soprano range notes that carry well outdoors.
Available in Silver or Green, the Lilypad Cymbals are built to enhance any sensory play environment, adaptive recreation space, or school ground. The instrument is also compatible with the Harmony Method, an optional standards-based education program that turns outdoor play into structured, hands-on musical learning experiences.

Contact us if you need help choosing the right option for your site.
What is the Harmony Method and does it cost extra?
The Harmony Method is an optional standards-based music education program offered by Freenotes Harmony Park. It provides curriculum-aligned activity guides and learning resources designed to turn outdoor instrument play into structured educational experiences. It is an add-on and is not included with the standard instrument purchase. Contact Freenotes or our team for pricing and details.
Can the Lilypad Cymbals be played in the rain or left outdoors year-round?
Yes. The Lilypad Cymbals are engineered for permanent outdoor installation and are built to withstand the elements. The anodized aluminum note material and durable post options (including corrosion-resistant Recycled Plastic posts) are designed for year-round outdoor exposure in parks and playgrounds.
Does the instrument arrive assembled or does it require professional installation?
The Lilypad Cymbals require on-site installation. An Installation Guide PDF is available for download on this page. Depending on the mount type selected (especially In-Ground), professional installation may be required. Please refer to the installation guide or contact us for more details.
Can the Lilypad Cymbals be used alongside other Freenotes instruments?
Absolutely. The Lilypad Cymbals are tuned in C Major Pentatonic, which is harmonically compatible with all other Freenotes Harmony Park instruments.
