FAQ
Do you need any musical experience to play the Cascade Bells?
Not at all. The Cascade Bells are tuned to a C Major Pentatonic scale, which means every note naturally harmonizes with every other note. Anyone can pick up a mallet and create beautiful, pleasing music right away - no musical training required. This makes it ideal for inclusive playgrounds, sensory gardens, and public spaces where visitors of all ages and abilities will interact with it.
How durable are the Cascade Bells for outdoor use?
Very durable. The bells are constructed from anodized aluminum, which is corrosion-resistant and built to withstand UV exposure, rain, temperature swings, and the wear of constant public use. Freenotes instruments are specifically engineered for outdoor public installations, so longevity in challenging environments is a core part of the design.
What is the difference between the Inground, Surface Mount, and Portable options?
The Inground option is set into the ground with concrete for the most permanent, secure installation - best for parks and playgrounds. Surface Mount bolts to an existing hard surface like concrete or a deck, making it ideal when digging isn't possible. The Portable option is designed to be relocated, perfect for events, therapy programs, or facilities that need flexibility in placement.
What mallets come with the Cascade Bells?
The Cascade Bells includes two MA-TBEL-42 mallets, which are purpose-built for use with Freenotes bell instruments. These are designed to produce the best tone from the anodized aluminum bells and are ready to use right away.
Is professional installation required?
For the Inground and Surface Mount versions, installation involves setting posts in concrete or bolting to a hard surface, so a general contractor or facilities crew is recommended. A full installation guide is available for download to help guide the process. The Portable version requires no permanent installation.
Can the Cascade Bells be used indoors?
While the Cascade Bells are engineered for outdoor use, they can also be installed indoors in larger spaces such as lobbies, sensory rooms, or music therapy facilities. Contact us at service@omahasportsandgames.com to discuss the best mount option for an indoor application.
