Excel Convergent Flat/Incline/Decline Bench – Muscle D Fitness
Description
The Muscle D Fitness Excel Convergent Flat/Incline/Decline Bench is a commercial-grade, multi-angle pressing machine built for serious upper body training. Part of Muscle D's Excel Leverage Line, it combines flat, incline, and decline bench press capability into a single compact unit - giving coaches, gym owners, and dedicated athletes a complete chest pressing solution without the need for multiple machines. The convergent press arms are engineered to mirror your body's natural pushing arc, delivering optimal activation across the chest, shoulders, and triceps with every rep.
Iso-lateral arm movement means each side works independently, correcting muscle imbalances and promoting balanced, symmetrical strength development. Built on a heavy-duty steel frame with four oversized bearings on convergent guide rods, this machine is designed to handle high-volume commercial use while still fitting cleanly into a home gym setup. Whether you're outfitting a professional training facility or building a serious home gym, the Excel Convergent Bench delivers the versatility and durability to match.

FAQ
What is the difference between convergent and standard press arms?
Convergent press arms are angled to follow the natural arc your arms travel during a pressing movement, rather than moving in a fixed straight or perpendicular path. This means the arms come together slightly as you push, closely mimicking a free-weight bench press motion. The result is better muscle engagement, reduced joint stress, and a more natural feel under heavy loads compared to traditional lever or plate-loaded machines with fixed-path arms.
What does iso-lateral mean and why does it matter?
Iso-lateral means each press arm moves independently of the other. This prevents your dominant side from compensating for your weaker side - a common issue on standard dual-arm machines. Independent arm movement helps correct strength imbalances over time, improves unilateral muscle development, and allows for single-arm training variations. For competitive athletes and serious lifters, iso-lateral mechanics are a significant functional advantage.
Is this machine suitable for a commercial gym environment?
Yes - the Excel Convergent Bench is specifically engineered for commercial use. With an 800 lb max load capacity, no user weight limit, a heavy-duty steel frame, and a 10-year structural warranty, it is built to handle continuous high-volume use. It is trusted by professional gyms, training studios, and fitness facilities that require reliable, low-maintenance equipment that performs consistently day after day.
What delivery and installation options are available?
Several options are available at checkout: standard curbside delivery (no additional charge), garage delivery with no unpacking, warehouse pre-assembly, and full on-site assembly and installation. Professional installation is recommended given the size and weight of the machine (450 lbs). Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location.
Can this machine be used in a home gym?
Absolutely. While the Excel Convergent Bench is built to commercial standards, its compact footprint - with a recommended live area of 120" x 112" - makes it a practical choice for dedicated home gym spaces, garage gyms, and private training setups. If you want commercial-grade performance and durability in a home environment, this bench delivers exactly that.
Are resistance bands compatible with this machine?
Yes. The Excel Convergent Bench features integrated band pegs that allow you to attach resistance bands for accommodating resistance training. This is a popular technique among powerlifters and advanced strength athletes for developing explosive pressing strength through the full range of motion.
