DuroMax XP9500iHT 9,500W Tri Fuel Inverter Generator - Quiet, Low THD
Description
The DuroMax XP9500iHT is a heavy-duty tri fuel inverter generator that delivers 9,500 peak watts and 7,600 running watts of clean, quiet sine wave power - capable of backing up an entire home. Unlike conventional open-frame generators, its inverter technology produces less than 3% total harmonic distortion (THD), making it safe for sensitive electronics like laptops, TVs, and smart appliances. Fuel flexibility sets it apart: run it on gasoline, propane, or natural gas, so you're never left without power regardless of what's available during an outage.
Equipped with a 50 Amp outlet, push-button and remote start, and a built-in CO sensor with automatic shutdown, the XP9500iHT is engineered for serious home backup use. Its 100% copper windings and AGM battery technology ensure long-term reliability and consistent cold-weather performance. Whether you're weathering a hurricane season or powering an RV campsite, this generator is built to handle it.

FAQ
Can the XP9500iHT power my entire house during an outage?
The XP9500iHT provides 9,500 peak watts and 7,600 running watts, which is enough to power essentials like refrigerators, air conditioning, lighting, and other major appliances simultaneously. For whole-home backup, you'll want to calculate your total power needs and connect via a transfer switch or interlock kit installed by a licensed electrician. DuroMax recommends hiring a licensed Master Electrician for any home electrical installation.
Is this generator safe to use with sensitive electronics like TVs and laptops?
Yes. As an inverter generator, the XP9500iHT produces clean sine wave power with a total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 3%. This is comparable to utility grid power and is completely safe for sensitive electronics including laptops, smartphones, TVs, medical devices, and other microprocessor-controlled equipment.
How do I connect this generator to my home's natural gas line?
The XP9500iHT includes a 15-foot x 1/2-inch natural gas hose with Quick Connect fittings, making the hookup straightforward. Your home's natural gas supply must maintain a pressure of 6.0 to 9.0 inches of water column and provide at least 176,000 BTU at full load. It is strongly recommended to have a licensed plumber or gas technician handle the natural gas connection to ensure safety and compliance with local codes.
What is the CO Alert feature and how does it work?
The built-in CO (carbon monoxide) sensor continuously monitors the air around the generator for dangerous CO levels. If CO concentrations rise to a potentially harmful threshold, the generator will automatically alert you and shut itself down - helping protect you, your family, and anyone nearby. This is an important safety feature, though it does not replace the need to always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from windows and doors.
Can I run two XP9500iHT generators in parallel for more power?
Yes, the XP9500iHT is parallel-capable. Using the built-in parallel port, you can connect a second compatible DuroMax inverter generator to effectively double your power output. The second unit and any required parallel cables are sold separately. This is a great option for situations where you need more than 9,500 watts without upgrading to a fixed standby generator.
How loud is this generator compared to a traditional generator?
At 25% load, the XP9500iHT operates at approximately 61 dB - roughly the noise level of a normal conversation. Traditional open-frame generators of similar wattage typically run at 70-75 dB or louder. The inverter's variable idle control also reduces engine speed during lower load conditions, making it noticeably quieter during partial-load use.
How is this generator shipped, and does it require assembly?
Generators 9,000 watts and above ship via freight with free liftgate and curbside delivery to the 48 contiguous U.S. states. The generator arrives largely pre-assembled - you'll need to attach the included wheel and handle kit and fill the engine with oil before first use. Full instructions are included in the owner's manual.
