D'Huez Alloy Wheelset - Disc Brake
Description
The D'Huez Alloy Wheelset - Disc Brake is named for the legendary Alpine climb that has defined so many Tour de France battles - and it lives up to that legacy. ROL Wheels has redesigned the D'Huez with performance at the forefront, featuring a wider, stiffer rim engineered to keep pace with the demands of modern road cycling. The lightweight, race-proven alloy rim makes this wheelset a natural upgrade for riders seeking real speed and durability on their disc brake road bike.
The ROL rear disc road hub sits at the heart of this build, blending lightweight construction with long-lasting durability at a value that's hard to match. Compatible with Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, and Campagnolo drivetrains, and available in both thru-axle and quick release configurations, the D'Huez is built to fit your setup and perform wherever the road takes you.
Key Features
- Alloy Rim Construction: Lightweight, wide, and race-proven - designed for performance road cycling with disc brakes.
- Wider Rim Profile: Updated design accommodates wider tires for improved handling, comfort, and responsiveness.
- Stiffer Build: Re-engineered for increased stiffness, delivering more efficient power transfer on climbs and sprints.
- ROL Disc Road Hub: Purpose-built rear hub combining lightweight, durability, and value found in no other hub on the market.
- Spoke Count Options (24/24 or 28/28): Choose 24-spoke for lighter riders and performance, or 28-spoke for added strength and higher rider weight capacity.
- Freehub Compatibility: Available with Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo freehubs to match your drivetrain.
- Axle Options (Thru-Axle or Quick Release): Fits 12x100/12x142 thru-axle or quick release - compatible with a wide range of disc brake road frames.
- Rider Weight Rating: 24-spoke recommended up to 200 lbs; 28-spoke handles higher rider weights for greater confidence.
- Disc Brake Ready: Engineered specifically for disc brake road bikes - no rim brake compromise.
Spoke Count & Which to Choose
- 24/24 Front/Rear: The lighter, more race-oriented option. Fewer spokes mean a marginal weight savings and a sleek profile well suited to climbing and performance riding. Recommended for riders up to 200 lbs who prioritize speed and responsiveness.
- 28/28 Front/Rear: The stronger, more versatile build. Additional spokes add durability and load capacity, making this the right choice for heavier riders, those who ride rough roads, or anyone who wants extra confidence on long days in the saddle.

Why You'll Love It
The D'Huez Alloy Wheelset is the kind of upgrade that changes how your bike feels on every ride - more responsive, more planted, and more confident whether you're attacking a climb or pushing through a long flat. ROL Wheels has refined this design over time to meet the demands of serious cyclists who want real performance without stepping up to a full carbon build. The wide alloy rim pairs beautifully with modern tire widths, and the ROL disc hub is built to hold up ride after ride. With compatibility across Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo drivetrains, plus both thru-axle and quick release options, there's a D'Huez configuration that fits your bike and your riding style. For road cyclists who refuse to settle, this is the wheelset worth riding.

FAQ
Which freehub body should I choose - Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo?
Choose the freehub that matches your drivetrain. Shimano HG is compatible with most Shimano and many SRAM road groupsets. SRAM XDR is required for SRAM's 12-speed road drivetrains (Red eTap AXS, Force eTap AXS, Rival eTap AXS). Campagnolo is the choice if you're running a Campagnolo groupset. If you're unsure, check the cassette that came with your current groupset - the freehub body must match.
Should I choose the 24-spoke or 28-spoke option?
The 24-spoke wheelset is lighter and ideal for performance-focused riders up to 200 lbs. The 28-spoke option adds extra strength and is recommended for heavier riders, more demanding road conditions, or anyone who wants a more robust build for long-distance riding. When in doubt, the 28-spoke is the more versatile choice.
Is this wheelset compatible with my disc brake road bike?
Yes - the D'Huez is designed specifically for disc brake road bikes. It is available in 12x100 front / 12x142 rear thru-axle (the most common modern standard) as well as quick release. Check your fork and frame's axle standard before ordering to ensure the right fit.
What tires can I run on the D'Huez alloy rim?
The D'Huez features a wider rim profile designed to accommodate modern road tire widths. While the exact internal rim width is not specified, the design is optimized for wider tires that are common on contemporary performance road bikes. We recommend consulting a ROL Wheels representative for specific tire width recommendations.
Do these wheels come with a cassette or tires?
No - the D'Huez Alloy Wheelset includes the front and rear wheels only (rim, spokes, and hub with your chosen freehub body). Cassette, tires, tubes, and rotors are sold separately and are not included.
