Crupi OS20 2.0 Pro 3X Race Bike Frame

Description

The Crupi OS20 2.0 Pro 3X Race Frame is a completely redesigned, USA-handbuilt BMX race frame engineered for tall riders who demand the stability and rolling advantage of the oversized 451mm wheel format. "OS" stands for Over-Sized - a 20" wheel class favored by serious racers who want more rim diameter underfoot without sacrificing race-proven geometry. This updated 2.0 version retains Crupi's race-winning geometry while introducing wrap-around seat stays, a slightly shorter seat tube, and a built-in Disc Adapter that eliminates the need for axle-mounted add-ons.

Constructed from seamless drawn 6061 T6 butted aluminum, every tube is carefully shaped - squared ends for maximum weld surface, a large square down tube for stiffness, and teardrop-profile chain stays for an exceptionally rigid rear end. With a 23" top tube and compatibility with standard Pro 20" forks, this frame is purpose-built for riders 6' and taller who are serious about competition.

Key Features

  • All-American Handbuilt Construction: Every frame is hand built in the USA from seamless drawn 6061 T6 butted aluminum tubing for race-ready quality.
  • OS20 / 451mm Wheel Compatibility: Designed for the oversized 451mm rim and tire format, delivering extra stability and rolling diameter on the track.
  • 23" Top Tube: Sized for riders 6'+ for a confident, stretched-out race position.
  • Wrap-Around Seat Stays: New 2.0 design feature that improves rear-end stiffness and frame rigidity.
  • Built-In Disc Adapter: Integrated disc brake mount eliminates the need for separate axle-mounted adapters - compatible with Tektro, TRP Evo, TRP Slate, and all Shimano hydraulic disc kits (requires Crupi Disc Adapter Kit and 120mm rotor).
  • Pro Taper Head Tube & EB24 Euro BB: Level 2.0 Race Frame spec includes a Pro Taper head tube and traditional EB24 Euro bottom bracket standard.
  • Teardrop Chain Stay Tubes: Specially shaped for maximum stiffness and strength in the rear triangle.
  • Square Down Tube: Larger diameter, square-profile down tube significantly stiffens the front end of the frame.
  • Parallel 3/8" (10mm) Axle Slots: Ground-parallel dropout slots ensure consistent frame geometry regardless of rear wheel position.
  • Thicker 3D Dropouts & V-Brake Posts: Extra-thick dropouts for disc brake rigidity, while standard brake posts retain full V-brake compatibility.
  • Fork Compatibility: Geometry based on the Answer Dagger OS20 fork, but most standard Pro 20" forks will work - no OS20-specific fork required.

FAQ

What is the OS20 wheel format and why would I choose it?

OS20 stands for Over-Sized 20" - it refers to the 451mm rim and tire standard, which is slightly larger in diameter than the traditional 406mm BMX wheel. Taller racers often prefer it for the added stability and extra rolling diameter, which can smooth out rough track surfaces and help maintain momentum through corners and transitions. If you're 6' or taller and want a more planted, confidence-inspiring feel on the track, the OS20 setup is worth serious consideration.

Do I need a special OS20-specific fork?

Not necessarily. The OS20 2.0 frame geometry was based on the Answer Dagger OS20 fork, but most standard Pro 20" forks are compatible with the OS20 wheel. This gives you a lot of flexibility in fork choice without being locked into a niche product category.

Which disc brake kits are compatible with this frame?

The built-in disc adapter on this frame is compatible with Tektro, TRP Evo, TRP Slate, and all Shimano hydraulic disc brake kits. Note that Hope, Avid, and all mechanical disc kits are not compatible. You must also use Crupi's Disc Adapter Kit along with a 120mm rotor for proper fit. V-brakes are also fully supported via standard brake posts.

Is this frame sold as frame-only or as a complete bike?

This listing is for the frame only. You will need to source your own fork, headset, bottom bracket, cranks, bars, stem, wheels, brakes, and other components separately to build it up into a complete race bike.

Why is this frame sometimes out of stock?

All Crupi frames are hand built in the USA in small batches, which means inventory moves quickly. If your preferred color or size is unavailable, you can contact Crupi directly to be placed on a priority list - when that frame becomes available, you'll have the first opportunity to purchase it.
