Crupi 20 x 1.75 36H CenterLock Wheelset

Description

The Crupi 20 x 1.75 36H CenterLock Wheelset is an all-new 2026 BMX race wheelset built around Crupi's innovative Quad CenterLock hubset - delivering the fastest Spring & Pawl engagement system in BMX. With 150 ratchet teeth engaging every 2.4 degrees, power transfer is so immediate you'll swear it's instant. These wheels are purpose-built for serious BMX racers who demand precision, durability, and the flexibility to run disc or V-brakes.

Laced with 14G spokes and alloy nipples to Crupi's race-tested 406mm Rhythm Section 36H rims, every component in this wheelset is engineered to perform under real race conditions. The front hub features an interchangeable axle system - simply choose between a standard 3/8" (10mm) or 20mm thru axle at the time of your order - making this set compatible with virtually any BMX race fork.

FAQ

What is a CenterLock hub and how does it differ from a standard BMX hub?

A CenterLock hub uses a splined interface - the same ISO standard used by many disc brake rotors - which allows the hub to be adapted for disc brake use with an optional converter or adapter kit. On this wheelset, Crupi's Quad CenterLock hub also delivers an exceptionally fast 150-tooth Spring & Pawl engagement system, engaging every 2.4 degrees. Standard BMX hubs typically have far fewer engagement points and are not disc-convertible.

Do I need to buy anything extra to run disc brakes with this wheelset?

Yes - you will need the Crupi Disc Brake Adapter Kit (sold separately) to convert the CenterLock hub for disc brake use. The CenterLock ISO Converter is also sold separately. The wheelset is ready to use with V-brakes right out of the box.

How do I know which front axle size to choose - 3/8" or 20mm?

Check your fork's dropouts. Most standard BMX race forks use a 3/8" (10mm) axle. Some higher-end or specific race forks use a 20mm thru axle for added stiffness. If you are unsure, check your fork's specifications or the manufacturer's website before ordering, as the axle size cannot be changed after the wheel is built.

Can I change the cog size from the included 16T?

Yes - at checkout you can select an alternate cog size including 13T, 14T, 15T, 17T, or 18T for an additional charge. The 4 included cog spacers allow you to fine-tune chain alignment for the best possible fit with your frame, regardless of which cog size you choose.

What type of tubes do these wheels require?

These wheels require American valve (Schrader) tubes - the same style used on car tires. Make sure you do not purchase Presta valve tubes, as they will not fit the valve hole in the Rhythm Section rims.
