FAQ
What does "Medium Long" flap mean, and is it right for me?
The "Medium Long" flap refers to the length of the saddle flap that runs down the side of your horse. A medium long flap is designed for riders with a longer thigh measurement compared to a standard medium flap. If you find that your knee tends to hang below or near the bottom of standard saddle flaps, a medium long flap will give you better leg coverage, a more secure position, and a cleaner look in the show ring.
What is the Adjustable XCH™ tree, and why does it matter?
The Adjustable XCH™ tree allows the saddle's gullet width to be changed by a qualified saddle fitter, accommodating horses with different back widths or horses whose shape changes over time due to fitness, age, or season. This means your investment isn't locked to a single horse - the saddle can be refitted as needed, making it a smart long-term purchase for serious riders.
What size saddle should I choose?
Saddle sizing is based primarily on your seat size - measured from the back of the kneecap to your seat bone. As a general guide: riders around 5'0"-5'4" and lighter builds often fit a 16.0-16.5", average-height adults (5'4"-5'8") typically fit a 17.0-17.5", and taller or larger-framed riders usually prefer an 18.0". If you're between sizes, try both and consider your riding discipline and personal comfort preference. A professional saddle fitting is always recommended.
How should I care for the Hazelnut Printed Leather?
To keep the leather in top condition, wipe the saddle down after each use with a clean, slightly damp cloth to remove sweat and debris. Apply a quality leather conditioner regularly to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. Avoid soaking the leather or leaving the saddle in direct sunlight or extreme heat for extended periods. Proper care will preserve both the look and longevity of your saddle for many years.
Is this saddle suitable for both schooling and competition?
Yes - the Competition Show Jumping II is designed to perform in both schooling sessions and the show ring. Its clean profile, quality leather finish, and secure block system make it equally at home during daily training as it is under the lights at a rated show. Many riders appreciate not having to switch between a schooling saddle and a show saddle, and this model is built to handle the demands of both without compromise.
