Champion 3500W Dual Fuel Portable Generator with CO Shield

Description

The Champion Power Equipment 3500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator is the go-to power solution for home backup, job sites, and outdoor adventures. Powered by a reliable 224cc Champion engine, it runs on either gasoline or propane right out of the box, giving you flexible fuel options when you need them most. The built-in CO Shield® carbon monoxide auto shutoff system adds a critical layer of safety by automatically cutting the engine if unsafe CO levels are detected. With up to 4375 starting watts on gasoline and a runtime of 14 hours at half load, this generator delivers serious power and endurance through any outage or project.

Intelligauge keeps you informed with real-time monitoring of voltage, frequency, and runtime hours, so you always know how your generator is performing. Volt Guard™ built-in surge protection shields your appliances and equipment from voltage spikes, while covered outlets and a low oil shutoff switch round out a thoughtfully engineered package. Whether you're weathering a storm or powering a remote worksite, Champion backs every unit with a 3-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support.

FAQ

Can I switch between gasoline and propane while the generator is running?

No - you should not switch fuels while the generator is running. Use the patented fuel select dial to choose your fuel source before starting the unit, or shut the generator off before switching between gasoline and propane. This ensures safe fuel transitions and protects the engine.

What is CO Shield® and how does it work?

CO Shield® is Champion's carbon monoxide auto shutoff system. It continuously monitors the accumulation of CO gas produced by the engine exhaust while the generator is running. If CO levels reach an unsafe threshold, the system automatically shuts off the engine to help prevent CO poisoning. It meets the requirements of ANSI/PGMA G300-2018. Important: CO Shield is not a substitute for an indoor CO alarm. Always operate this generator outdoors, far away from windows, doors, vents, and occupied buildings.

Will this generator power my RV?

Yes - this generator includes a dedicated 120V 30A TT-30R RV outlet, which is the standard connection used by most RVs. With 3500 running watts on gasoline, it can handle most RV air conditioners, appliances, and electronics simultaneously. Always check your RV's total wattage requirements before connecting.

Does this generator require assembly out of the box?

Setup is minimal. You'll need to add the included 10W-30 engine oil using the provided oil funnel before first use. If you plan to run on propane, connect the included 6.5-ft. propane hose to a compatible tank. Champion includes clear directions to make the process hassle free.

How loud is this generator?

The Champion 3500W Dual Fuel Generator operates at 68 dBA measured from 23 feet away - about as loud as a standard household vacuum cleaner. While it isn't a whisper-quiet inverter generator, it's well within a reasonable range for outdoor backup and job site use.

What size propane tank do I need?

The generator is rated for runtime based on a standard 20-pound propane tank, which provides up to 10.5 hours of run time at 50% load. The included 6.5-ft. propane hose with built-in regulator connects to standard propane tanks. For extended runtime, you can use a larger tank with an appropriate adapter (sold separately).
