Cabrinha Quest Downwind Foil Board 2026
Description
The Cabrinha Quest is a purpose-built downwind foiling and light-wind Para Winging board engineered for riders who want to go further, lift sooner, and ride longer. Combining a displacement hull for low-speed lift with optimized volume distribution, the Quest delivers a stable yet responsive platform that works in perfect harmony with the Cabrinha Union foil system and the latest parawings on the market. Constructed in Cabrinha's new Apex Pro Carbon Construction, it is up to 40% lighter than traditional builds, giving you a board that feels alive and efficient underfoot.
From the concave deck that lowers foot position for increased reactivity, to the side-cut bevelled rails that morph into a smooth rounded outline for effortless water release and fast pop-back on touch downs, every element of the Quest is designed with performance in mind. Whether you're linking downwind runs or working light-wind parawing sessions, the Quest brings out the best in both rider and power source - delivering smooth acceleration, endless glide, and effortless connection.
Key Features
- Apex Pro Carbon Construction: An exceptionally light and buoyant EPS core fused with a full biaxial carbon wrap - up to 40% lighter than traditional builds for maximum efficiency.
- Displacement Hull Design: Purpose-built hull geometry generates low-speed lift and optimized volume distribution for balance, making early takeoffs and downwind runs smoother than ever.
- Concave Deck: All-new concave deck lowers foot position to increase reactivity, response, and the most direct energy transfer to date.
- Bevelled & Curved Rails: Side-cut bevelled rails morph into a smooth curved outline for increased water release when riding and fast pop-back up on the foil during touch downs.
- Full Custom High-Grip EVA Deck Pad: Made from Friendly Foam biodegradable EVA, with low-profile corduroy grooving and strategically placed cutouts for comfort and grip exactly where you need it.
- Angle-Adjustable Strap Inserts: 2 or 3 strap insert configuration lets you dial in your preferred stance for downwinding or para winging sessions.
- Reinforced Foil Track Spine: Double carbon base and PVC-reinforced deck deliver structural strength and direct energy transfer to the foil.
- Double PVC/Glass Stringers: Added backbone for rigidity and long-term durability under demanding conditions.
- Board Bag Included: Every Quest ships with a protective board bag for easy transport and storage.
- Eco-Friendly Packaging: Ships in reusable Flexi-hex packaging for a reduced environmental footprint.
Size Options & Which to Choose
- 7'0 (96.5L / 19" wide / 5.7" thick / 5.4 kg): The most maneuverable and performance-oriented option. Best for lighter or more experienced riders who want a snappier, more reactive ride with quicker transitions. Ideal for side-shore downwind runs with consistent bump energy.
- 7'6 (105L / 18.5" wide / 6" thick / 5.6 kg): The all-around sweet spot of the lineup. Offers a great balance between stability and maneuverability, suiting a wide range of rider weights and skill levels. A great choice for those stepping up their downwind game or approaching para winging for the first time.
- 8'0 (111L / 18" wide / 6.1" thick / 5.8 kg): Maximum volume and stability for heavier riders or those new to foil boarding. The extra float makes light-wind para winging sessions more accessible and forgiving, while still delivering the Quest's signature smooth glide and easy lift.

Why You'll Love It
The Quest is the result of Cabrinha stepping back and designing for where foiling and para winging are heading - not where they've been. Trusted by top riders like Ancor Sosa, the Quest pairs insanely well with Prestige foils for pump, glide, and speed that keeps you linking runs instead of fighting balance. The Apex Pro Carbon Construction and biodegradable EVA deck pad reflect Cabrinha's commitment to both performance and sustainability, so you can feel good about what you're riding. Whether you're chasing open-ocean downwind lines or exploring light-wind parawing sessions, this board is built to grow with you. It's a board that rewards skill, supports progression, and is engineered to deliver effortless, high-performance foiling for seasons to come.

FAQ
What is the Quest best used for?
The Quest is purpose-built for downwind foiling and light-wind Para Winging. Its displacement hull and optimized volume distribution make it excellent for generating low-speed lift and linking long gliding runs. It works in perfect harmony with Cabrinha's Union foil system and leading parawings on the market.
Which size should I choose?
Size selection largely depends on your body weight, skill level, and intended use. The 7'0 (96.5L) is best for lighter or more experienced riders seeking maximum maneuverability. The 7'6 (105L) is the versatile all-rounder suited to a wide range of riders. The 8'0 (111L) offers the most volume and stability, making it ideal for heavier riders or those new to foil boarding and para winging.
Does the Quest come with straps?
Straps are sold separately. The board does include 4x M8x30mm mounting bolts and 2x new Lockable T-nut assemblies, plus an angle-adjustable 2 or 3 strap insert configuration so you can set it up exactly how you prefer once you source your preferred straps.
Is a board bag included with the Quest?
Yes! Every 2026 Cabrinha Quest ships with a board bag included for protection during transport and storage.
What makes the Apex Pro Carbon Construction different from standard builds?
Cabrinha's Apex Pro Carbon Construction uses an EPS core fused with a full biaxial carbon wrap, double carbon base, and PVC-reinforced deck. The result is a board that is up to 40% lighter than traditional builds, with significantly improved strength, stiffness, and energy transfer - meaning more of your effort goes directly into foil performance rather than being lost in board flex.
Is the Quest compatible with foils from other brands?
The Quest is optimized to work with Cabrinha's Union foil system and is described as pairing especially well with Cabrinha Prestige foils. Compatibility with third-party foil brands will depend on the track standard used. We recommend confirming foil track compatibility before purchasing if you plan to use a non-Cabrinha foil.
