Cabrinha AER Wing for Foil, Wave, and Freeride 2026
Description
The Cabrinha Aer 2 is an ultra-lightweight wing engineered for riders who demand balance, simplicity, and early power in every session. Built around a compact aspect design that minimizes wingspan, the Aer 2 excels in light wind conditions and surf scenarios where effortless drift and stability are essential. The radial panel canopy, constructed with premium Teijin D2 fabric and reinforced Teijin-75 trailing edge panels, holds its form cleanly through every gust and gybe.
Hybrid leading-edge construction stiffens the center of the wing while keeping overall weight impressively low, and the convex strut adds frame rigidity without bulk. Ultra-light soft handles make packing down for a downwinder or travel day a breeze, and the all-new TruView mesh infill panel keeps your field of view open so you can read waves and water without obstruction. Easy to carry, easy to rig - the Aer 2 is designed to get out of your way and let you ride.
Key Features
- Compact Low-Aspect Design: Minimizes wingspan for improved balance and easier handling, especially in surf and foil riding.
- Medium-Full Profile: Delivers smooth, predictable power and early planing - ideal for light wind sessions and progression.
- Radial Panel Canopy: Thread-lines follow the load paths in flight, producing a cleaner, stronger, and more efficient canopy shape.
- Teijin D2 + Teijin-75 Fabric: Japanese-made double ripstop with D2 coating for superior tear resistance, UV protection, and long-term durability.
- Hybrid Leading-Edge Construction: Increases stiffness at the center while reducing overall weight for a better strength-to-weight ratio.
- Reinforced Double Centre Section: Adds strength and rigidity exactly where the loads are highest, extending the wing's lifespan.
- Convex Strut: Improves overall frame stiffness and extends trailing-edge canopy support for a cleaner profile in flight.
- Ultra-Lightweight Soft Handles: Simplifies the setup, reduces total weight, and packs down flat for travel or downwinders.
- TruView Mesh Infill Panel: Maintains an unobstructed field of view while preserving canopy profile support across the centre.
- Dual Airlock Valves: Two airlock valves let you customize leading-edge and strut pressure to match the size of wing you are riding.
Size Options & Which to Choose
- 3M (Wind Range: 18-32 knots, Weight: 1.674 kg): The smallest and lightest option in the Aer 2 lineup. Best for heavier or more powerful riders in stronger wind conditions, or lighter riders who want a compact, fast-responding wing for surf or freestyle use.
- 4M (Wind Range: 13-27 knots, Weight: 2.013 kg): The versatile mid-size option that covers a wide range of conditions. Perfect for the average rider (reference: 75 kg) looking for an all-day wing that transitions smoothly between foiling, wave riding, and freeride.
- 5M (Wind Range: 11-26 knots, Weight: 2.392 kg): The largest and most light-wind-capable size. Ideal for riders who want maximum early lift and effortless cruising in marginal conditions, downwinders, or anyone who values getting on foil with minimal effort.

Whether you're heading out for a dawn patrol surf session or a multi-spot downwinder, the Aer 2's featherlight construction and compact footprint make it the easiest wing you'll ever carry to the water. The Teijin D2 canopy is engineered for longevity, so your investment holds up season after season even under demanding UV and salt exposure. FAQ
What makes the Aer 2 different from other Cabrinha wings like the Mantis or Vision?
The Aer 2 is purpose-built for ultra-lightweight efficiency, especially in light wind conditions and surf. Where the Mantis prioritizes all-round versatility and the Vision targets freestyle, the Aer 2 focuses on minimal weight, compact design, and early power delivery in larger sizes. If you spend a lot of time in marginal winds, riding waves, or doing downwinders, the Aer 2 is the specialist tool for those conditions.
What size should I choose?
Size selection depends on your weight and typical wind conditions. As a general guide for a 75 kg rider: the 3M suits 18-32 knot winds, the 4M covers 13-27 knots, and the 5M handles 11-26 knots. If you're a heavier rider or regularly sail in lighter winds, step up a size. The 5M is especially popular for foiling in light wind where early lift is the priority.
What does the Teijin D2 canopy material offer?
Teijin D2 is a premium Japanese-made double ripstop fabric with a specialized D2 coating that significantly improves tear resistance, UV protection, and abrasion resistance compared to standard canopy materials. This means the Aer 2 maintains its shape and structural integrity over many seasons of use, even in harsh saltwater and sun environments.
Can I use the Aer 2 for freestyle or big air?
The Aer 2 is primarily optimized for freeride, wave riding, and light wind foiling. Its compact aspect design and soft handles make it less suited to high-performance freestyle or big air compared to wings like the Vision. However, its light weight and stability make it a capable all-rounder for riders who prioritize those disciplines over tricks.
Is the Aer 2 easy to pack and travel with?
Yes - the ultra-lightweight soft handles and compact design are specifically engineered for packability. Rider Theo notes it packs down super small, making it ideal for travel and multi-spot sessions. The single-point inflation system also speeds up rigging and de-rigging significantly.
What colors are available?
The Aer 2 is available in three color options: C1, C2, and C11. All color variants are available across the 3M, 4M, and 5M sizes. Color choice is purely cosmetic and does not affect the performance or specifications of the wing.
