BUILT Strength Throwback Series Smith Press (New)
Description
The BUILT Strength Throwback Series Smith Press is a commercial-grade Smith machine built for serious lifters, professional facilities, and anyone who demands a smooth, reliable guided barbell experience. Pairing a true straight-angle bar path with precision linear bearings, it delivers the quiet, frictionless performance that coaches and athletes rely on through bench press, overhead press, squat, and beyond. At 545 lb, this machine is engineered to stay planted under maximal loading day after day - whether it's a high-volume commercial gym or a dedicated private training space.
The counterbalanced bar drops effective starting resistance to just 15 lb, making the Throwback Series genuinely accessible for rehabilitation, technique work, and beginner programming without ever compromising its capacity for heavy lifting. Built on an 11-gauge steel frame designed for decades of high-frequency use, this is a Smith machine that earns its place as a centerpiece of any serious training floor.
Key Features
- Commercial Linear Bearing System: Precision linear bearings deliver a smooth, quiet, frictionless bar path on every rep - no binding, no lateral play, and consistent performance under any load throughout continuous commercial use.
- Straight-Angle Bar Motion: A true vertical bar path keeps pressing and squatting mechanics predictable and consistent - the classic Smith machine geometry suited for bench press, overhead press, squat, and a wide range of guided barbell movements.
- Counterbalanced Bar - 15 lb Starting Weight: Counterbalancing reduces the bar's effective starting weight to just 15 lb, keeping the machine accessible for beginners, rehabilitation users, and athletes running technique or deload sessions.
- 11-Gauge (3mm) Steel Frame: Heavy-duty commercial-grade steel construction handles sustained heavy loading without flex, rattle, or frame fatigue - built to perform reliably in facilities where machines run under load all day, every day.
- Machine Weight - 545 lb: At over a quarter ton, this press stays planted under maximal loads in even the most demanding commercial environments, providing a stable, confidence-inspiring training platform.
- Integrated Weight Horns: Multiple on-machine weight horns keep plates loaded and organized throughout the session - quick access for loading changes without stepping away from the station or cluttering the surrounding floor.
- Dimensions - 50" x 84" x 84": A well-proportioned footprint that fits within a standard 6' x 4' floor allocation, making space planning straightforward for both commercial and home gym layouts.
- 1 Year Parts & Labor + Lifetime Frame Warranty: Coverage begins on delivery day and includes parts and labor for the first year, with lifetime frame protection and extended coverage options available at checkout.
- Ships Crated with Assembly Manual: Arrives in a factory crate with full assembly documentation; inside delivery and assembly service is available nationwide for those who want it handled by professionals.

FAQ
How much floor space does the Throwback Series Smith Press require?
The machine measures 50" x 84" x 84" (L x W x H). Plan for a 6' x 4' footprint plus approximately 2' of clearance around the machine for bar travel and safe movement. Make sure your ceiling height accommodates the 84" (7 ft) height before ordering.
What is the difference between driveway delivery and inside delivery and assembly?
Driveway delivery means the freight carrier uses a liftgate to lower the crated machine to your curb or driveway - moving it inside and unpacking it is up to you. Inside delivery and assembly means the delivery team brings the equipment into your room, assembles and tests it, and removes all packaging. Inside delivery is available nationwide and can be selected in the shipping calculator or at checkout.
Why does this Smith machine weigh 545 lb?
The 545 lb machine weight is a feature, not a drawback. That mass comes from the heavy-duty 11-gauge steel frame and commercial-grade construction that keeps the press planted and stable under maximal loading. A heavier machine doesn't rock, shift, or flex during heavy squats and presses - it performs exactly the same on rep one as it does on the last set of the day.
What does "counterbalanced bar" mean, and why does it matter?
A counterbalanced Smith machine bar uses a pulley or counterweight system to offset the bar's own weight, reducing its effective starting resistance to just 15 lb. This is important because it makes the machine genuinely usable for a wide range of people - including beginners, those in rehabilitation, and advanced athletes doing technique work or deload sessions - without ever limiting capacity for heavy lifting.
What does the warranty cover and how long does it last?
Every new BUILT Strength Throwback Series Smith Press includes 1 year of parts and labor coverage plus a lifetime frame warranty. Coverage begins on your delivery date. Extended protection plans (up to 3 years total parts and labor) are available at checkout through BAG Care+. Warranty service is available nationwide - every ZIP code in the country.
Can I finance this purchase?
