BUILT Strength Standing Calf Raise (New)
Description
The BUILT Strength Standing Calf Raise is a commercial-grade selectorized machine engineered to isolate and develop the gastrocnemius through a standing plantarflexion movement. By keeping the knees extended throughout the exercise, this machine maximizes gastrocnemius recruitment - the bi-articular muscle that crosses both the knee and ankle - delivering a deeper stretch and more powerful peak contraction than any seated alternative. Fully adjustable shoulder pads accommodate users of every height, ensuring proper alignment and consistent loading from the very first rep.
Non-slip angled footplates lock the feet in place through the full dorsiflexion-to-plantarflexion range, eliminating foot shift under heavy loads. Built on an 11-gauge steel frame weighing 485 lbs, this machine provides rock-solid stability for serious calf training in both high-traffic commercial gyms and dedicated home gym setups. It's the ideal complement to a seated calf station for anyone pursuing complete lower leg development.
Key Features
- Standing Gastrocnemius Emphasis: Knees-extended standing position fully lengthens the gastrocnemius, producing greater muscle recruitment and peak contraction than seated calf machines.
- Fully Adjustable Shoulder Pad Assembly: Shoulder pads adjust to fit users of any height, positioning the contact point correctly for consistent loading and proper alignment through every rep.
- Non-Slip Angled Footplates: Angled, non-slip footplates keep feet securely positioned through the full range of motion - from deepest dorsiflexion stretch to peak plantarflexion contraction.
- 11-Gauge (3mm) Steel Frame: Heavy-duty steel construction delivers structural rigidity with zero flex under maximum loading, built for sustained daily commercial use.
- 485 lb Machine Weight: Exceptional mass and stability ensure the machine stays grounded during heavy selectorized calf loading without anchoring required.
- Selectorized Resistance: Weight-stack selectorized resistance system allows quick, precise load adjustments between sets and users - contact us for full stack specifications.
- Compact 54" x 43" Footprint: Fits efficiently into commercial gym floors and home gym spaces without sacrificing structural integrity or user comfort.
- Targets Multiple Lower Leg Muscles: Primarily targets the gastrocnemius, with secondary engagement of the soleus, peroneals, and tibialis anterior for well-rounded lower leg development.
- Complements Seated Calf Machines: The standing position provides the opposite muscular emphasis from a seated calf raise, making this machine a powerful pairing for complete calf development.
- 1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty + Lifetime Frame: Backed by a full 1-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime frame coverage, and extended warranty options available.

FAQ
What is the difference between a standing and seated calf raise machine?
The key difference is which part of the calf is emphasized. A standing calf raise - with knees extended - specifically targets the gastrocnemius, the larger, bi-articular calf muscle that crosses both the knee and ankle. A seated calf raise - with knees bent - shifts the emphasis to the soleus, which sits underneath the gastrocnemius. For complete lower leg development, using both machines together is highly recommended.
How does the shoulder pad adjustment work?
The shoulder pad assembly adjusts vertically to fit users of varying heights. Before starting a set, you position the pads so they rest comfortably on your shoulders with your feet flat on the angled footplates. This ensures the load is applied correctly through your shoulders and spine for every rep, regardless of how tall or short the user is.
Does this machine need to be bolted to the floor?
Floor mounting is not required. At 485 lbs, the machine's own weight provides substantial stability during use. That said, ensuring a level surface and adequate clearance around the machine is always recommended. If you're setting up in a commercial environment with very heavy use, optional anchoring is never a bad idea for added peace of mind.
How does this machine ship and does it require assembly?
The BUILT Strength Standing Calf Raise ships crated via freight with an assembly manual included. You can choose standard driveway freight delivery - where the carrier lowers the crate to your curb or driveway using a liftgate - or upgrade to inside delivery and assembly, where a delivery team brings the machine into your room, assembles it, tests it, and removes all packaging. Assembly is required, though the inside delivery option handles this for you.
What warranty is included, and can I extend it?
Every new BUILT Strength Standing Calf Raise comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty plus lifetime frame coverage, backed by the seller. Extended warranty options are available at checkout - you can add 1 additional year (2 years total) or 2 additional years (3 years total) of parts and labor coverage. All coverage begins on the date of delivery.
What is the weight stack capacity?
The BUILT Strength Standing Calf Raise uses a selectorized weight stack system. Full stack specifications are available by contacting us directly - our team can provide the exact weight range and increment details to make sure this machine meets your training requirements.
