BUILT Strength Standing Abductor
Description
The BUILT Strength Standing Abductor is a commercial-grade lower-body machine designed to isolate the glute medius, glute minimus, and hip abductors through a standing lateral abduction movement. Unlike seated abduction exercises, the standing position also recruits the core and supporting leg stabilizers throughout each repetition, combining focused glute training with functional hip stability.
A guided lateral resistance path keeps the movement controlled and consistent throughout the full abduction arc, helping reduce unwanted lateral drift and compensation. The cushioned support pad and ergonomic foot placement help maintain proper positioning during both high-repetition activation work and heavier training. At just 68 inches long by 33 inches wide, the compact 11-gauge steel frame fits efficiently into commercial gyms, home gyms, athletic training areas, and dedicated glute circuits.
Key Features
- Standing Abduction Movement: Trains the glutes and outer thighs while requiring the core and supporting leg to stabilize the body throughout each repetition.
- Guided Lateral Resistance Path: Keeps the abduction movement controlled and consistent through the full lateral arc for direct loading of the target muscles.
- Glute & Hip Focus: Primarily targets the gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and hip abductors.
- Additional Stabilizer Engagement: The tensor fasciae latae, core stabilizers, and gluteus maximus contribute during the standing movement.
- Cushioned Support Pad: Provides upper-body support and helps maintain comfortable positioning during each set.
- Ergonomic Foot Placement: Designed to keep the user properly aligned throughout the abduction movement.
- 11-Gauge Steel Frame: Commercial-grade 3mm steel construction provides a strong foundation for repeated training.
- Compact Footprint: A 68-inch x 33-inch footprint makes the machine practical for both commercial and home gym layouts.
- Versatile Lower-Body Station: Well suited for glute circuits, athletic warm-ups, accessory work, and dedicated hip-strengthening sessions.

Why You'll Love It
The BUILT Strength Standing Abductor gives glute and hip training a dedicated movement that does more than isolate the outer thighs. Because you remain standing, your core and supporting leg have to stabilize your body while the working leg moves through the guided abduction path. That makes it a strong option for building glute medius strength alongside functional hip stability. The compact footprint also makes it easier to add dedicated glute training to a gym without sacrificing excessive floor space, while the 11-gauge steel frame provides the durability expected from commercial strength equipment.

FAQ
What muscles does the BUILT Strength Standing Abductor target?
The primary muscles targeted are the gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and hip abductors. The tensor fasciae latae, core stabilizers, and gluteus maximus also contribute during the standing movement.
What is the benefit of using a standing abductor machine?
The standing position requires the core and supporting leg to stabilize the body throughout each repetition. This allows the machine to train functional hip stability alongside focused glute and hip abductor strength.
How does the guided resistance path work?
The machine guides the working leg through a controlled lateral abduction path, helping maintain consistent movement without unnecessary lateral drift or compensation.
How much space does the Standing Abductor require?
The machine measures 68 inches long, 33 inches wide, and 59 inches high. At least 3 feet of clearance should be left behind the machine for full travel and safe mounting and dismounting.
Is professional assembly included?
Professional assembly is not included by default. Inside delivery and assembly are available as an optional delivery service.
How should the moving parts be maintained?
Clean the rails monthly and apply a light silicone lubricant to the moving components every few months.
What warranty comes with the Standing Abductor?
The new BUILT Strength Standing Abductor includes 1 year of parts and labor coverage plus a lifetime frame warranty.
