BUILT Strength 'OG' Series Seated Vertical Mid Row (New)
Description
The BUILT Strength OG Series Seated Vertical Mid Row is a commercial-grade plate-loaded rowing machine engineered to deliver two distinct training stimuli from a single station. In the seated position, the adjustable angled chest pad braces the torso for strict back isolation, placing the full load on the lats, traps, and rhomboids with no lower back involvement. Switch to the standing position and the same machine becomes a functional pulling exercise that recruits trunk stabilizers and core musculature alongside the primary back muscles.
Rotating handles allow the wrists to supinate naturally through the full pulling arc, eliminating forearm and grip tension so the target muscles work harder from start to finish. Plate-loaded resistance starts at 10 lb per arm and scales without limit, making this machine equally at home in a serious home gym or a high-traffic commercial facility. Built on an 11-gauge steel frame, the OG Series Mid Row is designed to hold up under heavy daily use for years to come.
Key Features
- Seated or Standing Rowing: Two distinct training positions from one machine - seated against the chest pad for strict back isolation, or standing for greater trunk and core engagement.
- Rotating Handles: Handles rotate to allow natural wrist supination through the full pulling arc, reducing forearm and wrist tension and maximizing lat, trap, and rhomboid activation.
- Adjustable Angled Chest Pad: Angled pad adjusts to fit each user's body proportions, bracing the torso and removing lower back involvement during seated rows.
- Plate-Loaded Resistance - No Stack Ceiling: Starts at 10 lb per arm for warm-up and technique work, with Olympic plate loading providing unlimited progressive overload for long-term strength development.
- 11-Gauge (3mm) Steel Frame: Heavy-duty frame construction built to handle commercial-level loads and daily use without flex or fatigue.
- Primary Muscles Targeted - Lats, Rhomboids, Traps: Directly targets the latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, and trapezius for comprehensive back development.
- Secondary Muscle Engagement: Also recruits rear deltoids, biceps brachii, teres major, and core depending on position selected.
- 10 lb Per Arm Starting Weight: Low starting resistance accommodates warm-up sets, technique work, and lighter training days without bottoming out on a weight stack.
- Compact Footprint - 56" x 58" x 50": Relatively contained footprint for a dual-function commercial rowing machine, fitting into home gyms and smaller commercial spaces alike.
- 1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty - Lifetime Frame: Backed by a 1-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime frame coverage; extended coverage available at purchase.

FAQ
Do I need to buy Olympic plates separately?
Yes - the OG Series Seated Vertical Mid Row is plate-loaded and accepts standard 2" Olympic plates, which are sold separately. The machine starts at 10 lb per arm with the included starting weight, and you can add Olympic plates to progressively increase resistance without any stack ceiling.
What is the difference between the seated and standing positions?
In the seated position, your torso is braced against the adjustable angled chest pad, which isolates the back muscles - lats, traps, and rhomboids - by removing lower back involvement entirely. In the standing position, the chest pad is not used, which introduces trunk stabilizers and core muscles into the movement for a more functional pulling pattern. Both positions target the same primary back muscles, but with different levels of core and stabilizer engagement.
How does this machine ship and does it require assembly?
The OG Series Mid Row ships crated with an assembly manual included. You can choose standard driveway freight delivery, where the carrier lowers the crated machine to your curb or driveway using a liftgate and moving it inside is your responsibility. Alternatively, inside delivery and assembly is available at checkout - the delivery team will bring the machine into your room, assemble it, test it, and remove all packaging.
What warranty is included with this machine?
The OG Series Seated Vertical Mid Row includes a 1-year parts and labor warranty plus a lifetime frame warranty, with coverage starting on the date of delivery. Extended warranty options (up to 3 years total parts and labor coverage) are available for purchase at checkout before the machine ships.
How do I adjust the chest pad to fit my body?
The angled chest pad on the OG Series Mid Row is adjustable to accommodate different user heights and body proportions. Adjustment is done via tool-free positioning pins, allowing quick repositioning between users. The goal of the adjustment is to ensure the pad braces your torso correctly so all of the pulling load stays on your back muscles rather than your lower back.
Is this machine suitable for a home gym or is it commercial only?
The BUILT Strength OG Series is built to commercial standards with an 11-gauge steel frame and is appropriate for both serious home gyms and commercial facilities. Its footprint of 56" x 58" is manageable for a dedicated home gym space, and the plate-loaded design means it will never limit your progress as your strength increases. Many home gym owners choose this machine precisely because it delivers the same durability and feel as the equipment found in top commercial gyms.
