BUILT Strength Compact Prone Leg Extension / Leg Curl (New)
Description
The BUILT Strength Compact Prone Leg Extension / Leg Curl is a dual-function lower-body isolation machine that targets both the quads and hamstrings from a single, space-efficient station. What sets it apart from conventional machines is its prone (face-down) body position, used for both the leg extension and leg curl - keeping the hip extended throughout each movement for a fuller hamstring stretch and a distinct quad loading angle that seated alternatives simply cannot replicate. Selectorized resistance makes switching between exercises fast and seamless, so training momentum never stalls.
Built on an 11-gauge steel commercial frame and weighing in at 507 lb, this machine is engineered for sustained high-frequency use in commercial gym environments and serious home gym setups alike. Adjustable leg positioning accommodates a wide range of user heights, keeping knee alignment precise across both exercises. At just 69" x 47", it delivers the functionality of two dedicated machines without demanding the floor space of two.
Key Features
- Prone Position for Both Movements: Face-down body position is used for both leg extension and leg curl - keeping the hip extended throughout for a fuller hamstring stretch and a distinct quad recruitment pattern not achievable on seated machines.
- Dual Function - Leg Extension and Leg Curl: One machine handles both quad and hamstring isolation, making it a space-saving alternative to purchasing two separate single-function units.
- Selectorized Resistance: Quick-adjust selectorized weight stack enables fast transitions between leg extension and leg curl modes - no lengthy reconfiguration between sets.
- Adjustable Leg Positioning: Accommodates different user heights and leg lengths, keeping the knee joint correctly aligned with the pivot axis for consistent, effective loading on every user.
- Compact 69" x 47" Footprint: Space-efficient design fits into both commercial facilities and home gym layouts without sacrificing stability or commercial-grade build quality.
- 11-Gauge (3mm) Steel Frame: Heavy-duty commercial frame construction rated for sustained high-frequency use, built to hold up in demanding gym environments.
- 507 lb Machine Weight: Substantial mass provides a rock-solid, stable platform during heavy lower-body work - no floor anchoring required.
- Primary Muscles Targeted: Leg extension hits the Quadriceps and Rectus Femoris; leg curl targets the Biceps Femoris, Semitendinosus, and Semimembranosus.
- Secondary Muscles Engaged: Gastrocnemius, Glutes, and Hip Flexors are recruited as secondary movers across both exercises.
- Ships Crated with Assembly Manual: Arrives in a factory crate with an assembly manual included; inside delivery and assembly service is available at checkout.

FAQ
What is the difference between a prone leg curl/extension and a seated version?
The prone (face-down) position keeps the hip extended throughout both the curl and the extension movements. This delivers a fuller stretch on the hamstrings at the start of the curl and recruits the quads at a different angle on the extension compared to seated machines. Many athletes and coaches prefer the prone position for its more complete range of motion and the unique muscle recruitment pattern it produces.
Can one machine really handle both leg extensions and leg curls effectively?
Yes - the BUILT Strength Compact Prone machine is specifically designed as a dual-function unit. The selectorized resistance and quick-adjust settings allow you to transition between leg extension and leg curl mode quickly, without major reconfiguration. Both movements are performed in the prone position, so the setup is consistent across exercises.
How does this machine ship and does it require assembly?
This machine ships crated on a freight pallet and includes an assembly manual. Standard delivery is a driveway liftgate service, where the freight carrier lowers the crate to your curb or driveway. If you want the machine brought inside, assembled, and tested with packaging removed, inside delivery and assembly service is available to select at checkout - just make sure to add it before the freight booking is confirmed.
Does the machine need to be bolted to the floor?
Floor mounting is not required. At 507 lb, the machine's own weight provides a stable, secure base during use. That said, placing it on a level surface and ensuring at least 3 feet of clearance around the machine is always recommended for safe training.
What is the warranty on this machine?
The BUILT Strength Compact Prone Leg Extension / Leg Curl comes with a 1-year parts and labor warranty plus a lifetime frame warranty, with coverage starting on the date of delivery. Extended protection plans (up to 3 years total) are available to add at checkout before the freight booking is placed.
Is this machine suitable for a home gym, or is it only for commercial facilities?
Both. The 69" x 47" footprint is compact enough for a well-equipped home gym, while the 11-gauge steel commercial-grade frame is built for the demands of a busy commercial facility. It's a practical choice for anyone who wants serious lower-body isolation without dedicating space to two separate machines.
