BUILT Strength Compact Abductor / Adductor (New)
Description
The BUILT Strength Compact Abductor / Adductor is a commercial-grade selectorized machine that delivers complete hip training from a single station. Designed for both outer and inner thigh development, it combines hip abduction and hip adduction into one compact, space-efficient frame — ideal for commercial gym floors, fitness facilities, and serious home gym setups. A quick-adjust selector switch converts between the two movements without touching the weight stack, making it easy to alternate exercises and keep training intensity high.
Built on an 11-gauge steel frame and weighing in at 529 lb, this machine is engineered for long-term, heavy-use durability. Padded leg rollers and an ergonomic seat maintain proper alignment through both movement arcs, ensuring the right muscles are loaded every rep. At just 59" x 27", it delivers two full training functions in the footprint of a single machine.
Key Features
- Quick-Adjust Selector Switch: Transitions the machine between hip abduction and hip adduction without changing the weight stack - enabling fast alternating sets and keeping workout intensity high.
- Dual-Function Design: Combines seated hip abduction and hip adduction into one station, targeting the gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, tensor fasciae latae, adductor magnus, adductor longus, and adductor brevis.
- Padded Leg Rollers: Maintain correct thigh alignment through both abduction and adduction movement arcs, directing load to the target muscles throughout each rep.
- Ergonomic Seat: Keeps the pelvis in a neutral position during both exercises, supporting proper form and reducing compensatory movement.
- Smooth Selectorized Resistance: Consistent tension through the full range of both movements - no slack at the start of either arc and no resistance spikes for controlled, even loading.
- Compact 59" x 27" Footprint: Fits complete hip abduction and adduction training into the floor space of a single machine - a practical solution for maximizing training capacity without sacrificing floor space.
- 11-Gauge (3mm) Steel Frame: Heavy-duty construction built to handle the demands of daily commercial use and long-term reliability.
- Machine Weight - 529 lb: Substantial, stable construction that stays planted during heavy use without requiring floor mounting.
- Warranty - 1 Year Parts & Labor + Lifetime Frame: Coverage begins on the date of delivery, with extended protection plans available for added peace of mind.

FAQ
What is the difference between hip abduction and hip adduction?
Hip abduction is the movement of the thigh away from the centerline of the body, primarily working the gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and tensor fasciae latae (outer thigh muscles). Hip adduction is the movement of the thigh toward and across the centerline, targeting the adductor magnus, adductor longus, and adductor brevis (inner thigh muscles). This machine trains both movements from the same seat, with a quick-adjust switch to transition between the two.
Do I need to change the weight stack when switching between abduction and adduction?
No - that is one of the standout features of this machine. The quick-adjust selector switch converts between abduction and adduction modes without requiring you to change the weight stack. This makes it fast and easy to alternate between the two movements mid-workout.
Does this machine require floor mounting?
Floor mounting is not required. At 529 lb, the machine is substantial enough to stay stable during use on a level surface. That said, ensuring a level floor and maintaining approximately 3 feet of clearance around the machine is recommended for safe and comfortable use.
How does this machine ship and will it arrive assembled?
The BUILT Strength Compact Abductor / Adductor ships freight, crated with an assembly manual. You can choose between Driveway Delivery - where the carrier lowers it to your curb or driveway via liftgate - or Inside Delivery and Assembly, where a delivery team brings the equipment into your space, assembles it, tests it, and removes all packaging. Assembly is required and the manual is included in the crate.
What muscles does this machine target?
In abduction mode, the primary muscles worked are the gluteus medius, gluteus minimus, and tensor fasciae latae. In adduction mode, the primary muscles are the adductor magnus, adductor longus, and adductor brevis. Secondary muscles engaged across both movements include the gracilis, pectineus, and glutes.
Is extended warranty coverage available?
Yes. The machine comes standard with 1 year of parts and labor coverage plus a lifetime frame warranty. Extended protection plans are available at checkout - you can add 1 additional year (2 years total) or 2 additional years (3 years total) of parts and labor coverage. Coverage begins on the date of delivery.
