AM 1/24 with Manual Override Hand Pump

Description

The EQ Systems AM 1/24 is a heavy-duty single-leg hydraulic trailer jack built for gooseneck trailers hauling horses, motorsports equipment, and other serious loads. With a 12,000 lb lifting capacity and a 24" stroke, this 4" x 4" square tube-in-tube jack replaces the frustration of cranking a manual jack with the ease of a keyed rocker switch - turning a grueling chore into a two-minute hookup. The AM series is engineered for demanding, real-world trailer use where reliability and speed matter every time you hitch up.

The included manual override hand pump ensures you're never stranded if power is unavailable - no drill or power tool required, just the pump handle. From its high-temp, PVC-braided wire harness to its commercial-grade single-function pump, every component is selected to hold up in the toughest environments. Whether you're managing a busy equestrian operation or running a motorsports rig on a tight schedule, the AM 1/24 delivers the performance and dependability you need.

Key Features

  • 12,000 lb Lifting Capacity: Handles fully loaded horse trailers, motorsports trailers, and other heavy gooseneck applications with confidence.
  • 24" Stroke Length: Generous stroke provides ample travel for a wide range of trailer heights and hookup situations.
  • 4" x 4" Tube-in-Tube Design: AM series square tube-in-tube construction delivers rugged, stable lifting geometry for gooseneck center tube mounting.
  • Manual Override Hand Pump: Built-in hand pump allows full jack operation - extend and retract - without any power source or power tools, using only the included pump handle (replacement handle: part 1776).
  • Keyed Rocker Switch Control: Standard keyed rocker switch and harness make operation simple while preventing unauthorized use of the system.
  • Commercial Single-Function Pump with Pump Cover: Heavy-duty commercial pump is protected by an included pump cover for long-term durability in outdoor environments.
  • High-Temp PVC Nylon Braid Wire Harness: Wire harnesses feature a PVC high-temperature nylon braid to withstand the toughest operating conditions.
  • Universal Mounting Brackets Included: Comes with universal mounting brackets for straightforward installation on gooseneck center tubes - mounting bolt kit 7227 sold separately.
  • Wireless Remote Compatible: Optional wireless remote (part 7823) available for added convenience on single-function jacks.
  • Retracted/Extended Length: Retracted length of 35.25", extended length of 58.3125" for precise fitment planning.

FAQ

Does the AM 1/24 ship with hydraulic fluid?

No - the unit ships without hydraulic fluid. An AM single-leg system runs on Dexron III ATF, filled to about one inch below the top of the reservoir with the jacks fully retracted. Be sure to use the vented breather cap (not the flush shipping plug) during operation, or the jack may operate erratically.

Do I need to buy mounting bolts separately?

Yes. Universal mounting brackets are included, but the mounting bolt kit (part 7227) is sold separately. You'll need one kit for a single-leg jack. This bolt kit is available as an add-on when ordering.

How does the manual override hand pump work?

If the system loses power, you can still operate the jack using the included hand pump handle - no drill or power tool required. To extend, insert the handle into the hand pump and pump it; expect 10-20 strokes before pressure builds and the jack begins to move. To retract, pull out the red knurled knob on the directional valve and turn it a quarter turn, then pump the handle. Afterward, return the directional valve to its normal position by rotating the knob until it snaps back, or the jack may drift down from the stowed position.

Can I control the jack with a wireless remote?

Yes. The AM 1/24 is compatible with an optional wireless remote (part 7823), which can be added to your order for added convenience. The standard configuration uses a keyed rocker switch and harness.

What are the battery requirements for this system?

EQ Systems recommends load testing your trailer battery before use. It should deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep terminals tight and free of corrosion, and keep the battery charged. If the trailer sits between trips, Stay Charge kits (parts 8400 and 8427) and the solar panel kit (part 70486) can help maintain the battery.

How often does this jack system need maintenance?

EQ Systems recommends inspecting the system every 12 months. During inspection, check that all connections are tight and free from corrosion - pay particular attention to the ground connection at the pump stud and the positive cable at the motor solenoid. Regular maintenance ensures long-term, reliable performance.
