AJ Hydraulic Trailer Jacks 2/24 with 2 Function Manual Selector

Description

The AJ Hydraulic Trailer Jack 2/24 is a complete dual-leg hydraulic lifting system engineered to bolt directly to the front of a gooseneck trailer. Built around the AJ series 3.5" x 3.5" square tube-in-tube design, this system delivers a combined 16,000 lb lifting capacity across two legs with a generous 24-inch stroke - making even heavily loaded horse and motorsports trailers fast and effortless to hook up or unhitch.

This configuration includes a 2-function manual selector valve with individual twist knobs for each leg, giving operators the ability to run both jacks in tandem or isolate and adjust each leg independently. Whether you're managing a loaded cargo hauler, a motorsports rig, or a horse trailer, this system replaces the labor of manual cranking with a single rocker switch and puts reliable, professional-grade hydraulic performance in your hands.

Key Features

  • Dual-Leg System: Two hydraulic legs provide balanced front-end support and lifting for gooseneck trailers.
  • 16,000 lb Lifting Capacity: Shared across both legs, this system handles heavily loaded horse, motorsports, and cargo trailers with ease.
  • 24" Stroke Length: Ample travel for a wide range of trailer heights and hookup situations.
  • AJ Series 3.5" x 3.5" Tube-in-Tube Construction: Heavy-duty square tube-in-tube design built for rugged, long-term field use.
  • 2-Function Manual Selector Valve (Part 1488T): Twist knobs allow independent operation of each leg - open both for tandem lifting, close one to fine-tune a single leg.
  • Weatherproof Switchgear with Key: Standard keyed rocker switch control prevents unauthorized use and stands up to harsh outdoor environments.
  • Manual Override - Screw Drive: If power is lost, the jack can be operated with a reversible drill (minimum 2000 RPM) and a 6mm Allen hex key through the motor's override shaft.
  • High-Temperature PVC Nylon Braid Wire Harnesses: Wiring is protected for demanding, high-heat environments common in motorsports and commercial hauling.
  • Universal Mounting Brackets Included: Comes with universal brackets for straightforward installation; mounting bolt kit #7227 sold separately.
  • Wireless Remote Compatible: Optional wireless remote control (part #7823) available for added convenience.

What's Included

  • AJ series dual-leg hydraulic jack assembly (2 legs, 24" stroke)
  • Commercial single-function pump with manual override screw drive
  • Steel pump cover
  • 2-function manual selector valve (part 1488T) with twist knobs
  • Weatherproof switchgear control with key
  • Universal mounting brackets

Why You'll Love It

For anyone who has wrestled with a manual crank jack on a loaded horse or motorsports trailer, the AJ Hydraulic system is a revelation - what used to be a fight becomes a two-minute hookup. EQ Systems has been engineering hydraulic trailer jack systems for decades, and the AJ series reflects that expertise with robust tube-in-tube construction that's built to handle years of heavy-duty use in demanding field conditions. The 2-function manual selector valve sets this configuration apart, giving operators precise independent control over each leg - ideal for uneven ground or situations where fine leveling matters. Weatherproof controls, high-temperature wiring, and a keyed ignition-style switch mean this system is as secure and weather-resistant as the trailers it's meant to serve. Even in the event of a power failure, the screw-drive manual override ensures you're never stranded. Trusted by horse trailer owners, motorsports haulers, and commercial operators alike, this is a system you can count on trip after trip.

FAQ

Does this system come with hydraulic fluid or mounting bolts?

No - the unit ships without hydraulic fluid or mounting bolts. You will need to fill the reservoir with Dexron III ATF to approximately one inch below the top with the jacks fully retracted. For mounting on the included universal brackets, order two mounting bolt kits (#7227), as dual-leg systems require two kits.

What does the 2-function manual selector valve do?

The 2-function manual selector valve (part 1488T) adds a twist knob for each jack leg. When both knobs are open, both legs run together in tandem for simultaneous lifting. Close one knob and that leg is isolated, allowing you to operate just the other leg on its own - useful for leveling on uneven ground or fine-tuning each leg independently.

What happens if the system loses power in the field?

This system includes a screw-drive manual override. Remove the pump cover and the foil seal on top of the motor, then use a reversible drill capable of at least 2000 RPM with a 6mm (1/4 inch) Allen hex key to drive the override shaft. Clockwise retracts the jack; counterclockwise extends it. Take care to keep the drill away from wires and hoses.

Is a wireless remote available for this system?

Yes - an optional wireless remote control is available as part #7823 and can be added to your order. The standard system includes a weatherproof keyed rocker switch as the primary control.

How often does this system require maintenance?

EQ Systems recommends inspecting the system every 12 months. During inspection, check that all connections are tight and free from corrosion, with particular attention to the ground connection at the pump stud and the positive cable at the motor solenoid. Also ensure the reservoir is running with the vented breather cap installed - not the flush shipping plug - as using the wrong cap can cause erratic operation.

What battery does this system require?

EQ Systems recommends load testing your battery before use. It should deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep terminals tight, clean, and free of corrosion, and keep the battery properly charged. If the trailer sits between uses, EQ Systems offers Stay Charge kits (#8400 and #8427) to charge the trailer battery from the tow vehicle, as well as a solar kit (#70487) to keep the jack battery topped up.
