AJ Hydraulic Trailer Jack 1/24 with Manual Override Screw Drive by EQ Systems

Description

The EQ Systems AJ Hydraulic Trailer Jack is a complete single-leg hydraulic lifting system engineered for gooseneck trailers, purpose-built for horse trailers and motorsports/cargo trailers with living quarters up to an 11-foot short wall. With an 8,000 lb lifting capacity and a 24-inch stroke, this system handles the real demands of a loaded trailer without the struggle of a manual crank. The AJ series features a rugged 3.5" x 3.5" square tube-in-tube design that bolts directly to the center tube of a gooseneck, delivering a solid, reliable connection every time.

Instead of fighting a hand crank on a heavy loaded trailer, a simple rocker switch does the work - turning a frustrating chore into a clean two-minute hookup. A weatherproof switchgear control with a keyed ignition comes standard, preventing unauthorized use and standing up to harsh outdoor conditions. Whether you're at a show, a race, or a remote job site, this system is built to perform trip after trip.

Key Features

  • 8,000 lb Lifting Capacity: Handles loaded horse trailers and motorsports/cargo trailers with confidence.
  • 24" Stroke Length: Extends from 35.5" retracted to 59.5" extended for significant ground clearance adjustment.
  • 3.5" x 3.5" Tube-in-Tube (AJ Series): Heavy-duty square tube construction for maximum rigidity and durability.
  • Rocker Switch Control: Replaces manual cranking - hooks up a loaded trailer in about two minutes with minimal effort.
  • Weatherproof Switchgear with Key: Standard keyed ignition prevents unauthorized use and withstands outdoor environments.
  • Manual Override - Screw Drive: If power is lost, a reversible drill with a 6mm (1/4") Allen hex key at 2,000+ RPM can operate the jack through the override output shaft.
  • Commercial Single-Function Hydraulic Pump: Built to commercial standards with a steel pump cover for long-term reliability.
  • PVC High-Temperature Nylon Braid Wire Harnesses: Wiring is protected against heat and abrasion for use in tough environments.
  • Universal Mounting Brackets Included: Simplifies installation on a wide range of gooseneck trailer configurations.
  • Wireless Remote Compatible: Optional wireless remote (part 7823) available for added convenience.

FAQ

Does this jack ship with hydraulic fluid?

No - the unit ships without hydraulic fluid. You will need to fill it with Dexron III ATF, filled to about one inch below the top of the reservoir with the jacks fully retracted. Keep in mind the fluid level rises as the jacks retract, so do not overfill. The reservoir must operate with the vented breather cap fitted - not the flush shipping plug - or the jack will operate erratically.

What happens if the jack loses power in the field?

The AJ jack includes a screw drive manual override. To use it, remove the pump cover and the foil seal on top of the motor, then drive the override shaft with a reversible drill capable of at least 2,000 RPM using a 6mm (1/4") Allen hex key. Clockwise retracts the jack and counterclockwise extends it. The drill must reach 2,000 RPM or the pump will not develop enough pressure to move the jack.

What size and type of gooseneck trailers is this jack compatible with?

This jack is designed to bolt to the center tube of a gooseneck trailer and is ideally suited for trailers with living quarters up to an 11-foot short wall. It is commonly used on horse trailers and motorsports/cargo trailers. Universal mounting brackets are included to accommodate a range of trailer configurations.

Is a wireless remote available for this jack?

Yes - a wireless remote is available as an optional accessory for single-function jacks (part number 7823). The standard system includes a weatherproof rocker switch control with a keyed ignition. Contact EQ Systems or check their accessories catalog for the wireless remote option.

What are the battery requirements to run this jack?

EQ Systems recommends that your trailer battery deliver a minimum of 150 amperes at a minimum of 10.5 VDC for at least 30 seconds. Keep terminals tight and free of corrosion, and keep the battery properly charged. If the trailer sits between trips, EQ Systems offers Stay Charge accessories (parts 8400 and 8427) and a solar kit (part 70487) to keep the battery maintained.

Does this jack require annual maintenance?

Yes - EQ Systems recommends inspecting the system every 12 months. During inspection, check that all connections are tight and free from corrosion, paying particular attention to the ground connection at the pump stud and the positive cable at the motor solenoid. Keeping up with maintenance ensures reliable long-term performance and helps catch any issues before they become problems on the road.
