48V 100Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.12kWh)

Description

The Epoch 48V 100Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery delivers 5.12kWh of intelligent lithium energy storage in one rugged, sealed enclosure - purpose-built for serious 48V off-grid solar, marine, RV, and backup power systems. With 80A continuous output (approximately 4,096W DC at 51.2V) and a 250A peak surge rating, this battery is engineered to handle high-demand inverter systems, marine house banks, and large-scale solar builds without compromise. What sets the V2-T apart is its user-serviceable 250A Eaton Class T fuse behind a sealed top service panel, offering an added layer of source protection that advanced users and professional installers demand.

Beyond raw power, the V2-T Elite integrates seamlessly with Victron GX devices via native CAN bus communication at 500 kbit/s, enabling DVCC charge control and full system visibility from a single dashboard. Built-in self-heating supports charging down to -30°C (-22°F) ambient, while the IP67-rated enclosure stands up to dust and temporary water immersion - making this battery equally at home in a marine bilge compartment, an off-grid cabin, or an expedition vehicle. An 11-year limited warranty and 3,500+ cycle lifespan back every unit, making it a long-term investment in reliable energy independence.

Why You'll Love It

The V2-T Elite Series is trusted by off-grid solar installers, marine electricians, RV builders, and Victron system integrators who need a LiFePO4 battery that performs as hard as the systems it powers. With native Victron CAN integration, self-heating capability, and a user-serviceable Class T fuse, this battery is engineered for real-world complexity - not just spec sheets. The IP67 enclosure and maintenance-free LiFePO4 chemistry mean you can install it and count on it for years of daily cycling without watering, equalizing, or babysitting. Whether you're powering a remote cabin, an offshore vessel, or a high-capacity Victron solar build, the 5.12kWh capacity and 16-battery parallel expansion give you a clear path from a single battery to an 81.92kWh bank as your needs grow. Backed by an industry-leading 11-year limited warranty and US-based technical support, this is energy storage you can build a system around with confidence.

FAQ

Can I connect this battery in series to get 96V?

No - the C48100A-A is a native 48V battery and must not be connected in series. Series-parallel configurations are also not supported. You can only expand capacity by connecting up to 16 matched C48100A-A batteries in parallel, which scales your bank up to 1,600Ah and 81.92kWh at 48V nominal.

Does this battery work with my Victron Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX?

Yes. The V2-T Elite has native CAN bus communication at 500 kbit/s and is compatible with the Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, and Cerbo GX Mk2. The communication harness is included. With DVCC enabled on the GX device, the battery automatically sets charge voltage and current limits for all connected Victron chargers. Follow the DIP switch and GX settings in the user manual to complete setup.

Will the battery charge in freezing temperatures?

Yes - the built-in self-heating system uses incoming charge current to warm the internal heating pads before allowing charge current to reach the cells. This supports charging from ambient temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F). Note that below freezing there will be a short delay before the state of charge starts to rise, as the BMS prioritizes heating first. Discharge is supported down to -20°C (-4°F).

What is the difference between the V2-T and a standard V2 model?

The key difference is the user-serviceable 250A Eaton Class T fuse mounted behind a sealed top service panel on the V2-T. If the fuse opens, you can replace it without opening the battery case - improving source protection and serviceability for high-current 48V systems. All other features (Victron CAN integration, Bluetooth, self-heating, IP67 enclosure) are shared across the Elite Series lineup.

Do I still need an external fuse or breaker with the V2-T?

Yes. The built-in Class T fuse improves source protection at the battery but does not replace the main disconnect or downstream overcurrent protection. You still need to install a DC-rated fuse or circuit breaker in the positive conductor as close to the battery as practical, and size all cables correctly for your system. For marine and RV installations, follow the applicable electrical codes that govern fuse placement distance from the battery.

How do I monitor multiple batteries in a parallel bank?

The Epoch Cloud app (free, iOS and Android) supports whole-bank monitoring when connected through the included battery gauge via Bluetooth. You can view state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, cycle count, and alerts for each battery individually or as a bank. For Victron GX users, the GX device also displays bank-level data including the number of modules online and total installed capacity once DVCC and the Epoch BMS settings are configured correctly.

Is this battery a drop-in replacement for a Group 8D lead-acid battery?

It is close in size but not a guaranteed drop-in fit. Before installing, confirm your battery tray dimensions, hold-down hardware, and lid clearance against the V2-T's dimensions (20.86" L x 8.65" W x 12.06" H, 97 lbs). An optional Epoch V2 and V2-T mounting bracket (8D size, sold separately) fastens to the threaded inserts on the case to help secure the battery in an 8D tray. You will also need to reprogram your charge sources for LiFePO4 charging parameters.
