24V 230Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 Battery (5.89kWh)

Description

The Epoch 24V 230Ah V2-T Elite Series LiFePO4 battery delivers 5.89kWh of managed, sealed energy storage in a single Group 8D-sized enclosure - purpose-built for premium marine house banks, 24V RV systems, and professional off-grid solar installations. With 230Ah at 25.6V nominal and 115A continuous output, one battery can sustain large inverters and demanding hotel loads without the hassle of wiring multiple smaller cells in parallel. This is a deep-cycle battery engineered for house power and energy storage, not engine starting.

What sets the V2-T Elite apart is how much intelligence is packed inside the case. A user-serviceable 300A Class-T fuse, native Victron CAN communication, a BMS-controlled internal heater, Bluetooth monitoring, and an IP67-rated enclosure come standard - reducing installation clutter while delivering the kind of reliability that serious system builders demand. Backed by an 11-year limited warranty and certified UL and IEC components, this is a battery built to perform season after season in the harshest environments.

Key Features

  • 5.89kWh Stored Energy (230Ah / 25.6V Nominal): Plan usable runtime on approximately 4,710Wh - enough to run a 1,000W load for nearly 5 hours on a single battery.
  • 115A Continuous Output (250A Peak for 5 Seconds): Supports approximately 2,944W DC continuous before inverter losses, with a 250A surge rating for 5 seconds - sized for large 24V inverters and demanding loads.
  • User-Serviceable 300A Class-T Fuse: An Eaton Bussmann JJN-300 with a 20kA interrupting rating at 160V DC sits under a protected service cover on the lid, reducing fault energy directly at the battery outlet.
  • Native Victron CANBus Integration: CAN communication at 500 kbit/s to Cerbo GX and Ekrano GX devices; with DVCC enabled, the BMS sets charge voltage and current limits automatically. Communication harness included.
  • IP67 Immersion-Rated Enclosure: Dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion to 1 meter for 30 minutes with all seals and glands installed - built to handle demanding marine and outdoor environments.
  • BMS-Controlled 153.6W Internal Heater: Heater activates at 5°C (41°F) and deactivates at 10°C (50°F) while charging, using incoming charge energy to warm cells - enabling safe charging down to 0°C (32°F).
  • Bluetooth 4.0 Monitoring via Epoch Cloud App: Monitor state of charge, cell voltage, temperature, charge/discharge cycles, and system health alerts in real time on iOS or Android through the included remote digital battery gauge.
  • Scalable Bank Architecture: Expand up to 16 batteries in parallel (3,680Ah / 94.21kWh) or 2 in series for a 51.2V nominal (48V-class) string. Mixed series-parallel banks are not supported.
  • 3,500+ Cycle Lifespan & 11-Year Limited Warranty: Rated to 3,500+ cycles to 70% end-of-life capacity at 25°C. Warranty includes 5 years free repair or replacement, then 40% off MSRP for the remainder.
  • Certified Cell Chemistry (LiFePO4): UL 1642, UL 9540A, and IEC 62619:2022 certified cells with advanced BMS protection - over/under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, and temperature safeguards built in.

Its native Victron DVCC integration means your charging system communicates directly with the BMS, eliminating the guesswork and manual tuning that lesser batteries demand. The built-in heater, IP67 enclosure, and Class-T fuse protection aren't add-ons - they're engineered into the core of the product.

With US-based technical support, an 11-year limited warranty, and certified LiFePO4 chemistry, this battery is a long-term investment in reliable, maintenance-free power. Whether you're outfitting a bluewater cruiser, a Class A motorhome, or a remote off-grid solar cabin, the V2-T Elite is built to handle the demands of daily use without complaint. Scale it from a single 5.89kWh unit up to a 94.21kWh bank as your needs grow - the architecture supports it every step of the way.

FAQ

Can this battery be used for engine starting?

No - the 24V 230Ah V2-T Elite is a deep-cycle battery designed exclusively for house power and energy storage applications. It is not rated or intended for engine cranking. For starting applications, use a dedicated starting battery alongside this unit.

How does Victron integration work with this battery?

The V2-T Elite communicates natively with compatible Victron GX devices (Cerbo GX and Ekrano GX) via CAN at 500 kbit/s. With DVCC enabled on the GX device, the battery's BMS automatically sets the charge voltage and current limits for Victron chargers. The communication harness is included in the box - you'll need to set DIP switches on each battery and configure the GX device per the manual. In a multi-battery bank, batteries are daisy-chained using RJ45 cables; no branch or tee connections are supported.

Will this battery charge in cold weather?

Yes - the built-in 153.6W heater is managed by the BMS to enable cold-weather charging. Cells will not accept a charge below 0°C (32°F), but while a charge source is connected, the heater activates automatically at 5°C (41°F) and shuts off at 10°C (50°F), warming the cells using incoming charge energy before normal charging proceeds. Discharge is supported down to -20°C (-4°F).

How many batteries can I connect in parallel or series?

You can connect up to 16 matched C24230A-A batteries in parallel, giving you up to 3,680Ah and approximately 94.21kWh at 25.6V nominal. For higher voltage systems, up to 2 batteries can be connected in series for a 51.2V nominal (48V-class) string at 58.0V full charge. Mixed series-parallel configurations are not supported. All batteries in a bank should be of the same age, capacity, and state of charge.

What does the IP67 rating mean for installation?

IP67 means the enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes, provided all seals and cable glands are correctly installed. It does not mean the battery is safe for permanent submersion, standing water, water jets, or pressure washing. You should always install the battery in a location where it remains dry during normal use - the IP67 rating is a protection test standard, not permission for wet or submerged installation.

Will this battery fit where my Group 8D lead-acid battery is installed?

The V2-T Elite is dimensioned at 20.86 x 8.65 x 12.06 inches (with terminal posts), which is close to a standard Group 8D footprint. However, you should carefully confirm tray fit, hold-down compatibility, and lid clearance before purchasing as a direct replacement - dimensions may not match exactly depending on your installation. The battery includes threaded inserts that accept the optional Elite Series 8D mounting hardware.

What charging settings should I program into my charger?

Set your charger to a LiFePO4-compatible CC/CV profile with a bulk/absorption voltage of 28.4V, a float voltage of 27.0V, and absorption time of 15 minutes per battery in the bank. Disable equalization and temperature compensation (0 mV/°C). Never charge above 29.0V, and do not use lead-acid equalization, desulfation, or repair modes. Maximum continuous charge current is 115A per battery across all charge sources combined. If using an alternator, use a DC-DC charger or a lithium-compatible alternator regulator.
