Leviathan Alloy Wheelset - Disc Brake
Description
The Leviathan Alloy Wheelset is built for riders who demand exceptional strength and reliability - whether you're a heavier rider, loading up for long-distance touring, riding a tandem, or tackling rough roads that would punish lesser wheels. With American-made alloy aero rims and a hand-built construction process carried out in Denver, Colorado, every Leviathan wheelset is crafted with the precision and care that serious cyclists expect.
Featuring a 32mm deep rim profile with a 20mm internal width, the Leviathan strikes an ideal balance between aerodynamic efficiency and structural durability across a wide range of tire sizes from 700x25mm to 700x42mm. The Tubeless Easy system makes going tubeless straightforward with just a floor pump, and stainless steel spokes with brass nipples ensure long-term resilience through thousands of demanding miles.

The Leviathan is the wheelset for riders who refuse to compromise on durability. Hand-built in Denver with American-made rims, it represents a level of craftsmanship that mass-produced wheelsets simply can't match. FAQ
What is the difference between the ROL CLD and White Industries CLD hub options?
The ROL CLD hubs are ROL's own disc hub offering - lightweight, smooth-rolling, and an excellent value for the performance they deliver. The White Industries CLD hubs are handcrafted in the USA and are widely regarded as among the best production hubs available. White Industries hubs are fully serviceable and rebuildable, making them a long-term investment for serious riders. If longevity and serviceability are top priorities, the White Industries option is worth the upgrade.
Which freehub body do I need?
The Leviathan is available with Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo freehub bodies. If you're running a Shimano drivetrain (or most 1x and 2x setups with HG-compatible cassettes), choose Shimano HG. If you're running SRAM's 12-speed Eagle or Force/Red AXS groupsets, choose SRAM XDR. If your bike uses a Campagnolo groupset, select the Campagnolo freehub. If you're unsure, check the brand and speed of your rear cassette.
Is the Leviathan suitable for loaded touring and heavier riders?
Yes - that's exactly what the Leviathan is designed for. The 32-spoke 3-cross lacing pattern on both wheels, combined with stainless steel spokes and brass nipples, provides exceptional strength and load-bearing capacity. This wheelset is specifically recommended for heavier riders, bikepacking and loaded touring builds, tandems, and riders who frequently encounter rough road surfaces.
Can I set this wheelset up tubeless?
Yes. The Leviathan features a Tubeless Easy system, which is designed to be set up with a standard floor pump - no compressor or special equipment needed. You'll still need tubeless-compatible tires, rim tape (if not pre-installed), and tubeless valves and sealant, but the rim design makes the initial bead-seating process straightforward.
Are other axle configurations or spoke counts available?
The standard configuration is 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axle. Other axle configurations are available upon request - contact ROL Wheels directly to discuss your needs. The Leviathan is also available with 36 spokes for even greater strength; reach out via email to inquire about custom options.
How long will it take to receive my order?
The Leviathan is currently on a 1-2 month lead time due to a rim back-order. Orders placed today are accepted as pre-orders and will be fulfilled as soon as inventory arrives. Each wheelset is hand-built to order in Denver, Colorado, so some lead time is expected even outside of back-order periods.
