Kinvent 3D Deltas Tridimensional Force Plates
Description
The Kinvent 3D Deltas are next-generation portable force plates engineered for elite sports performance, rehabilitation, and advanced biomechanical analysis. Unlike traditional single-axis force plates, the 3D Deltas simultaneously capture vertical, lateral, and anterior-posterior (X, Y, and Z axis) ground reaction forces - giving coaches, therapists, and performance specialists a truly complete picture of how an athlete moves and loads. Whether you're evaluating change of direction, broad jumps, single-leg hops, or complex functional movements, these plates deliver the precision data needed to optimize performance and minimize injury risk.
Designed with elite practitioners in mind, the 3D Deltas integrate seamlessly with the Kinvent App, enabling real-time data visualization, automatic rep detection via Smart Mode, and video-force synchronization for kinematic overlays. From return-to-sport clearance after ACL reconstruction to force-velocity profiling for sprint athletes, no other portable force plate solution offers this level of multidimensional insight in a field-ready package.
Key Features
- 3D Force Measurement (X, Y, Z Axes): Simultaneously captures vertical, lateral, and horizontal ground reaction forces - essential for assessing deceleration, re-acceleration, and directional stability.
- Change of Direction Analysis: Measures entry speed, braking impulse, ground contact time, lateral RSI, and limb symmetry to evaluate and improve COD efficiency.
- Lateral and Horizontal Power Testing: Assesses explosiveness in Skater Jumps, Lateral Bounds, Broad Jumps, Single-Leg Hops, and Drop/Side Jumps using Peak Force, RFD, Impulse, and RSI.
- Vertical Jump and Functional Movement Testing: Evaluate CMJ, SJ, Drop Jump height, peak power, and reactive strength, plus squats, bridges, push-ups, and sit-to-stand assessments.
- Force-Velocity Profiling and DSI: Identify whether an athlete is strength- or speed-dominant to guide targeted training interventions.
- Smart Mode - Automatic Movement Detection: Intelligently detects jumps, landings, and dynamic actions without manual setup - results are logged instantly to the athlete's profile.
- Motion Capture and Video-Force Synchronization: Link real-time video with quantified force data for joint angle observation (e.g., knee valgus), force vector visualization, and complete kinematic-kinetic analysis.
- Asymmetry and Load Distribution Monitoring: Instantly flags imbalances and compensations between limbs - critical for return-to-sport and injury prevention protocols.
- Kinvent Ecosystem Integration: Works seamlessly with other K-sensors (K-Power, K-Myo, K-Grip, etc.) for a comprehensive, connected assessment platform.
- Portable Design with Suitcase Transport: Built for field use - the 3D Deltas come with a dedicated suitcase for easy transport between facilities, gyms, and on-site testing environments.

Why You'll Love It
The Kinvent 3D Deltas represent the pinnacle of portable force plate technology - trusted by elite performance facilities, sports medicine clinics, and biomechanics researchers who demand more than vertical-only data. When a single-axis reading simply isn't enough to understand how an athlete decelerates, pivots, or absorbs lateral load, the 3D Deltas fill that gap with scientifically rigorous, multidimensional force data. Smart Mode means your testing workflow is faster and more consistent than ever, with automatic rep detection handling the logistics so you can focus entirely on your athlete. The deep integration with the Kinvent App - including video sync, force vector visualization, and longitudinal tracking - makes it easy to communicate findings, track progress over time, and make confident return-to-sport decisions backed by objective data. For performance coaches, physical therapists, and sports scientists working at the highest level, the 3D Deltas are an investment in precision that pays dividends every session.
FAQ
How are the 3D Deltas different from standard force plates?
Standard force plates typically measure only vertical ground reaction force. The Kinvent 3D Deltas measure force simultaneously across all three axes - vertical (Z), lateral (Y), and anterior-posterior (X) - giving a complete tridimensional view of how an athlete loads, pushes, and decelerates. This is critical for evaluating change of direction, broad jumps, and asymmetrical loading patterns that a single-axis plate would miss entirely.
What sports and clinical applications are the 3D Deltas best suited for?
The 3D Deltas are ideal for any setting where multidirectional movement matters. On the sports performance side, they excel in testing sprinters, team sport athletes (basketball, soccer, rugby), and any athlete where change of direction is a key performance variable. Clinically, they are widely used for return-to-sport clearance after ACL reconstruction, tendinopathy rehabilitation, and post-surgical functional assessments. They're also highly valuable for biomechanics research and sports science programs.
What is Smart Mode and how does it work?
Smart Mode is an intelligent feature within the Kinvent App that automatically detects key movement events - jumps, landings, and dynamic actions - without requiring the tester to manually trigger each rep. Once a session is started, the system monitors the force data in real time and logs each repetition instantly to the athlete's profile. This dramatically speeds up testing workflows and reduces the chance of human error in data capture.
Can the 3D Deltas be used alongside other Kinvent sensors?
Yes - the 3D Deltas are fully integrated into the Kinvent ecosystem. They can be used in conjunction with other K-sensors such as the K-Power (IMU/UWB motion sensor), K-Myo (EMG sensor), and K-Grip (hand dynamometer) through the shared Kinvent App. This allows practitioners to combine force data with muscle activation, range of motion, and velocity data in a single connected workflow.
Are the 3D Deltas portable enough for field or on-site use?
Absolutely. The 3D Deltas are designed with portability as a core feature. They come with a dedicated transport suitcase, making them easy to move between training facilities, clinics, or competition venues. Unlike large embedded laboratory force platforms, the 3D Deltas can be set up quickly without specialized installation.
Does the system include video analysis capabilities?
Yes. Through the Kinvent App, the 3D Deltas support video-force synchronization, allowing you to link real-time video with quantified force data. You can visualize force vectors, observe joint angles such as knee valgus, capture screenshots or video clips, and attach them directly to an athlete's profile for ongoing reference and reporting.
