Airex Balance Beam 64 x 9" - Case of 10
Description
The AIREX Balance Beam was developed specifically for clinical balance and proprioception training, making it a go-to tool in physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centers, and performance training environments. Modeled after a conventional balance beam, it targets walking function, foot mechanics, and overall postural control in a safe, foam-based format. The trapezoidal cross-section is what sets this beam apart - it can be flipped to adjust the difficulty level, giving practitioners precise control over the vestibular challenge. Wide-side down creates a broader, more stable surface ideal for early-stage rehab or beginners, while narrow-side down introduces a more demanding balance challenge for advanced users. At 64 inches long, it offers ample surface area for multi-step gait training and dynamic balance drills. This case of 10 is an excellent value for clinics, fitness studios, and school programs looking to equip a full class or treatment area.

FAQ
What is the difference between wide-side down and narrow-side down?
Placing the beam wide-side down (9.5") creates a broader, more stable base - great for beginners, early-stage rehabilitation, or patients working on foundational balance. Flipping it narrow-side down (4.5") significantly increases the difficulty by narrowing the base of support, providing a greater vestibular and proprioceptive challenge suited for advanced rehab or athletic training.
Who is the AIREX Balance Beam designed for?
The beam was developed specifically for clinical use in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. It is ideal for physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and fitness professionals who work on gait training, balance, proprioception, and core conditioning with patients or athletes of varying ability levels.
Can the beams be used on any floor surface?
Yes - the AIREX Balance Beam can be used on most common floor surfaces including hardwood, rubber flooring, carpet, and tile. The soft foam construction helps keep the beam in place during use, though it is always recommended to ensure a clean, flat surface for safe balance training.
Is this listing for a single beam or multiple beams?
This listing is for a case of 10 AIREX Balance Beams, making it an excellent value for clinics, schools, and facilities that need to equip a full group or therapy room. Each beam measures 64" x 9".
Does color affect performance?
No - the Blue and Lava color options are purely cosmetic and have no impact on the beam's performance or dimensions. Both colors offer identical functionality. Color selection can be useful for organizing stations, differentiating equipment sets, or matching a facility's color scheme.
