HawkGrips Platinum Set - Professional Therapeutic Instruments
Description
The HawkGrips Platinum Set is the most comprehensive IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) collection available, giving clinicians everything they need to address virtually any soft-tissue condition. This nine-instrument set spans the full range of clinical applications - from fine-detail work on fingers and toes to broad treatment of large muscle groups in bigger athletes. Crafted from surgical-grade stainless steel and hand-finished in the USA, each instrument is precision-engineered to glide over the skin with controlled feedback, helping practitioners detect and treat fascial restrictions, scar tissue, and soft-tissue injuries with confidence.
Whether you are a physical therapist, athletic trainer, chiropractor, or sports medicine professional, the Platinum Set delivers the versatility to treat patients of all sizes and body types. The cross-hatch grip design reduces clinician hand fatigue during extended treatment sessions, while the non-porous steel surface can be fully sterilized between patients - eliminating cross-contamination risk entirely. Backed by HawkGrips' lifetime warranty and made in the USA, this set represents the gold standard in IASTM instrumentation.

FAQ
What is IASTM and who is the Platinum Set designed for?
IASTM stands for Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization - a clinically proven technique used to detect and treat soft-tissue dysfunction, scar tissue, and fascial restrictions. The HawkGrips Platinum Set is designed for licensed clinical professionals including physical therapists, athletic trainers, chiropractors, occupational therapists, and sports medicine practitioners who need a complete, professional-grade instrument collection for daily patient care.
What is the difference between the handlebar instruments (HG1-HG3) and the small instruments (HG4-HG9)?
The handlebar instruments (HG1, HG2, HG3) are designed to treat large muscle groups across small, average, and larger-sized patients - areas like the back, shoulders, hamstrings, and neck. The small instruments (HG4 through HG9) are specialized tools for more targeted work: treating specific regions like fingers, toes, suboccipital muscles, broad surface scanning, and compact anatomical areas that require more precise instrument shapes.
What is the difference between single bevel and double bevel edges?
Single bevel edges are designed to penetrate deeper into tissue, making them ideal for more aggressive treatment of dense scar tissue or deep fascial restrictions. Double bevel edges are more versatile - they can be applied in both stroke directions, which is useful for scanning and moderate treatment across broader areas. Having both options in the Platinum Set means you can adjust your approach based on each patient's needs and tolerance.
How do I clean and sterilize HawkGrips instruments between patients?
HawkGrips instruments are made from non-porous surgical-grade stainless steel, which allows them to be fully sterilized and cleaned between patients using standard clinical disinfection protocols. Detailed cleaning instructions are available in the included user manual and as a downloadable PDF on this page. This design eliminates the risk of bacteria or germ transfer from patient to patient.
Is the HawkGrips Emollient required to use the instruments?
While not strictly required, HawkGrips Emollient is strongly recommended. It helps the instruments glide more smoothly over the skin, reducing friction and improving patient comfort during treatment. It also softens and protects the skin during therapy. One jar of emollient is included with the Platinum Set to get you started right away.
Does the Platinum Set come with a carrying case?
Yes - the Platinum Set includes both a roll-up carrying case for the instruments and a shoulder bag, giving you a professional and organized way to store, transport, and protect your full nine-instrument collection.
