Eureka SG85 Batch Brew-Dose Commercial Coffee Grinder
Description
The Eureka SG85 Batch Brew-Dose is a high-performance commercial grinder engineered specifically for high-volume batch brewing environments. Powered by an 85mm flat hardened steel burr set and a direct-drive 1350 RPM motor, it delivers fast, consistent output with minimal retention - making it ideal for coffee shops, roasters, and busy brew bars. The stepless micrometric adjustment system gives operators precise control over grind size, while Eureka's proprietary ACE System actively prevents static buildup and clumping for cleaner, more uniform doses every time.
Built with Silent Technology for a quieter workflow and a "High Speed" Grind Dispersion system for maximum throughput, the SG85 is designed to keep pace with commercial demand without sacrificing quality. Two programmable dose settings plus continuous grinding mode give your team the flexibility to handle everything from single batches to continuous service runs. Founded in Florence in 1920, Eureka has a century-long legacy of Italian craftsmanship - and the SG85 is a prime example of that precision at commercial scale.

Manuals & Guides
FAQ
What is batch brew dosing and how does the SG85 support it?
Batch brewing refers to brewing large quantities of coffee at once - typically using commercial drip brewers - rather than brewing cup by cup. The SG85 is purpose-built for this workflow, offering two programmable dose settings so you can dial in a precise amount of ground coffee per brew batch. Combined with its high throughput capacity (up to 13 kg/h), it keeps up with even the busiest service periods without compromising consistency.
What is the ACE System and why does it matter?
The ACE System (Anti-Clump & Electrostatic) is Eureka's built-in solution for two common grinding problems: static charge and clumping. Ground coffee naturally generates static electricity that causes grounds to stick to surfaces or clump together, leading to uneven doses and messy workflows. The ACE System neutralizes static at the dispersion point, resulting in cleaner, more consistent doses every time - which is especially important in a commercial setting where precision and speed both matter.
Is the SG85 suitable for espresso grinding as well?
The SG85 is specifically designed and optimized for batch brew - drip coffee applications. While it features stepless micrometric adjustment, its motor speed, burr geometry, and dosing system are calibrated for the coarser grind range and high-volume output that batch brewing requires. For espresso, Eureka offers dedicated espresso grinders such as the Atom Excellence series that are better suited to fine grind precision and single-dose espresso workflows.
How often do the burrs need to be replaced?
Burr replacement intervals depend heavily on usage volume and coffee type. As a general guideline, commercial flat steel burrs like those in the SG85 typically last 500-1,000 kg of coffee before a noticeable decline in grind quality. High-density or oily beans can accelerate wear. The SG85's "High Speed" Maintenance System is designed to make burr access and replacement straightforward, minimizing downtime when service is needed.
What voltage is required? Can this grinder be used internationally?
The SG85 is rated for 110-120V, which is standard for the United States and Canada. It is not dual-voltage. If you are purchasing for use outside North America, you would need a step-up transformer or should contact Eureka directly about international voltage options. The unit carries CE certification, indicating it meets European safety standards, but the electrical configuration of this model is designed for North American outlets.
What does the warranty cover?
The grinder comes with a 12-month commercial parts-only warranty through Pro Coffee Gear. This covers replacement of defective parts, but does not include labor, on-site service, installation, shipping, or other associated costs. The warranty is valid for the original purchaser and requires proper installation and operation within manufacturer guidelines. Extended support beyond the warranty period is available through Pro Coffee Gear's Lifetime Pro Support program.
