FAQ
What does the Adjustable XCH™ tree mean for my horse?
The Adjustable XCH™ tree allows the gullet width to be customized, so you can achieve a better fit for your horse's back shape and withers. This is especially useful as horses change condition seasonally or as young horses develop. It's always recommended to have a qualified saddle fitter assess the fit to ensure proper adjustment.
What is the difference between the Medium, Medium Forward, Medium Long, and Forward Long versions of this saddle?
These variations refer to the flap geometry - the length and angle of the saddle flap. "Medium" refers to a classic, upright flap suited to riders with a balanced leg position. "Forward" flaps are cut at a more forward angle for riders who prefer a shorter stirrup or who jump with a more forward seat. "Long" flaps suit taller or longer-legged riders. The Medium Saddle is the most versatile and widely recommended starting point.
How do I choose the right seat size?
Seat size is typically measured by the rider's inner leg length and overall build. A general guide is that riders who are smaller or shorter often fit 16.0-16.5", average-build adult riders typically use 17.0-17.5", and taller or larger riders may prefer 18.0". If you're unsure, visiting a tack shop or consulting a saddle fitter is the best way to confirm your correct size.
Are the knee and thigh blocks adjustable after purchase?
Yes - both the knee and thigh blocks use Velcro® attachment, which means they can be repositioned or removed to suit your preference. This makes the saddle versatile for riders who want more or less lateral support in their leg position.
Is this saddle appropriate for both amateur and competitive show jumping?
Absolutely. The Competition Show Jumping II is designed to perform at all levels, from schooling and local shows to recognized competitions. Its combination of a well-engineered tree, supportive blocks, and quality leather construction makes it a reliable choice for developing riders and experienced competitors alike.
