Description
The H/T by Pedal Electric is a hardtail electric bike built for riders who want a lightweight, agile ride without giving anything up in power or capability. Stripped down to the essentials, it's the most nimble bike in Pedal Electric's lineup - purpose-built for daily commutes, urban exploration, and weekend trail rides alike. FAQ
What is a hardtail e-bike and is it right for me?
A hardtail e-bike has front suspension but no rear suspension, making it lighter, more efficient for pedaling, and easier to maintain than full-suspension models. The H/T's hardtail design is ideal for riders who primarily commute on pavement, bike paths, and light trails. If you plan to tackle aggressive mountain terrain regularly, a full-suspension model may suit you better - but for everyday rides and moderate off-road use, the H/T delivers a smooth, capable experience.
What is the difference between Class 2 and Class 3 mode?
The H/T ships as a Class 2 e-bike, which allows a top assisted speed of 20 mph and includes both pedal-assist and thumb throttle functionality. Class 3 mode unlocks pedal-assist up to 28 mph but is throttle-restricted in that mode. Class 3 operation also reduces the estimated range to 20+ miles. Be sure to check your local regulations before switching modes, as Class 3 e-bikes may be subject to different rules depending on your area.
How long does it take to charge the battery, and can I remove it?
The 768Wh battery takes approximately 6 hours to fully recharge. The battery is integrated into the frame for a clean, low-profile look. Check the included documentation or contact Pedal Electric for specifics on whether the battery is fully removable for indoor charging on your particular build.
Is the H/T a good fit for shorter riders?
Yes - the H/T was specifically engineered with rider-friendly geometry that works especially well for shorter riders. The 28" seat height and overall frame proportions provide an accessible, comfortable riding position without feeling cramped or stretched. It's one of the reasons the H/T stands out in Pedal Electric's lineup as the most accessible option for a wide range of heights.
Can the H/T carry a passenger?
The H/T comes with a long saddle two-person seat designed to comfortably accommodate up to two riders. Passenger pegs are available as an add-on accessory. The 350 lb total weight capacity ensures the bike can handle the combined weight of two adults on most rides.
Does the H/T require assembly, and how does it ship?
The H/T ships partially assembled and requires some basic assembly upon arrival, such as attaching the handlebars, front wheel, and pedals. It does not ship freight on a pallet - it arrives as a standard boxed shipment. Most riders with basic mechanical comfort complete setup in under an hour, and Pedal Electric's customer support is available to assist if needed.
