FAQ
Is this eBike UL certified?
Yes. The Birch Direwolf is certified under UL 2849, a recognized U.S. safety standard for electric bikes. This certification covers the entire electrical system - including the battery, motor, controller, and charger - not just a single component.
What does UL 2849 certification mean for safety?
UL 2849 certification means the eBike's full electrical system has been independently tested and verified to reduce risks such as overheating, short circuits, electrical malfunctions, and fire hazards. For hunters riding in remote locations, this level of certified reliability is critical.
What is the real-world range on a single charge?
The Direwolf offers up to 85 miles in pedal-assist mode and up to 45 miles in throttle-only mode on a full charge of its 1200Wh battery. Actual range will vary depending on rider weight, load, terrain, temperature, and assist level used.
How much weight can the Direwolf carry?
The Direwolf has a total payload capacity of 400 lb., including the rider and all gear. The rear rack can support up to 110 lb. and the front rack up to 33 lb., allowing flexible load distribution for hunting packs, game, and equipment.
Is the mid-drive motor better than a hub motor for hunting?
For off-road and hunting applications, yes. A mid-drive motor like the BAFANG 1000W unit on the Direwolf is positioned centrally and low in the frame, improving balance and weight distribution. It also leverages the bike's gearing system for more efficient climbing and better performance under heavy loads compared to hub motors.
Where does the Direwolf ship to, and how long does it take?
The Direwolf ships free to the contiguous lower 48 states within 2 business days. Unfortunately, it cannot be shipped to New York City, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, PO Boxes, or APO addresses.
Does the Direwolf require assembly out of the box?
The Direwolf is designed for quick installation and comes with an installation video to guide you through the setup process. Most riders can get it ride-ready with basic tools in a short amount of time.
